When it comes to my lashes, I want length over anything. What good is volume and separation if your lashes are too short to see any of that? I personally have little tiny sticks for lashes, and to top that off, they’re quite light as well, so I’m always looking for the latest and greatest when it comes to mascara and I think my pathetic lashes are quite good candidates to be making these decisions, haha.
Most recent to be put to the test is the newly released YSL Mascara Vinyl Couture. It promises a “revolutionary, intense, and super shiny formula that gives lashes length, volume and curl with deep, saturated color.” SO, essentially, perfect lashes all from one tube of mascara. Well… is it too soon to say I have a new favorite mascara?
The packaging is sleek and luxurious, just as I’ve come to expect from YSL beauty products. I feel like I’ve gotten so used to all the newly released mascaras coming out with weirdly shaped, “innovative” brushes that are supposed to make your lashes look incredible (but usually don’t, honestly, haha), but the brush on the YSL Mascara Vinyl Couture doesn’t appear to be anything too out of the ordinary, just a good, thickly bristled brush.
So how does the mascara perform? See for yourself. It. Is. AMAZING. This is only two coats of mascara, applied with very minimal effort. You know how there’s some mascaras that work great, but you really have to sit there and wiggle your lashes around and make sure you’re coating every single lash to get it look how you want? This isn’t one of them. The YSL Mascara Couture Vinyl is effortless length, volume and separation with all-day hold. Oh my gossssh, I can’t speak highly enough of this mascara!
The first time I tried this, I wore it for six hours and didn’t experience any flaking, smudging or drooping of the lashes. It even passes my yawn tests- I am constantly tired so constantly yawning, haha, and every time I yawn my eyes get super watery. This wasn’t running or smudging at all!
It comes in 9 different shades and I think I want a couple more just for the good times… I’ve always been anti-colored mascara, but when I saw Cara Delevingne rocking blue mascara in the press release for this, I was so sold. It looked so fun! This mascara retails for $29, which is at the pricier end of mascaras but certainly not the priciest. And for it’s outstanding performance, I can safely say it is worth every. single. penny. Go get you some.
Sephora has deluxe samples of this mascara as a 100 point perk right now, so if you want to try without committing to a full tube, grab one!
Have you tried this yet?
