Check out my other Valentine’s day makeup tutorials, too! glam // pink // natural
It’s almost Valentine’s Day, which means I have been eyeing up pieces in my closet and trying to come up with the perfect Valentine’s Day makeup look… and I think I’ve finally got it. I’ve got it AND I’m going to share it with you all, because Valentine’s Day is all about spreading the love, isn’t it? ;)
Here’s what you need to complete this easy drugstore Valentine’s Day look:
Face:
- L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
- Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer
- NYX HD Blush in Soft Spoken
Eyes:
- Makeup Revolution Naked Chocolate Palette
- Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
- L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
- Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel
Lips:
- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red
Alright, let’s begin! Start by applying your foundation and any concealer or whatever other face products you use. Fill in your brows, add your blush and bronzer as you please. Now the boring stuff is out of the way and we have a gorgeous, glowing skin base to work with!
Onto the eyeshadow, where things can get tricky if you don’t often do your own makeup. I am a huge fan of anything brown, taupe, bronze, chocolate… I like brown eyeshadow. I think it looks great with any eye, skin, and hair color. I chose this Makeup Revolution palette because the colors are easy to work with, even if you’re not a pro! I kept my shadow super simple for this look: a pretty golden shade blended all over the lid and buffed out into the crease, and a super light beige shade on the inner corners of my eyes and on the brow bone.
Once your eyeshadow is applied and blended in nicely, add eyeliner to only your top lid, all the way from the inner corner to the outer corner. I personally like to pull my liner a tiny bit past the end of my lid in a bit of a wing as it helps my eyes to pop a little bit more. Then I layer up on the mascara- super long, dramatic lashes are my fave!
Time for the final step that is going to tie this whole look together and SCREAM Valentine’s Day! Bright red lipstick, my fave! Another color that looks good on everyone. You can’t go wrong with red lipstick, my friends. Well, unless you manage paint it all around your lips in a clown fashion… haha. Please don’t do that. If you prefer, you can use a matching liner to keep the color from bleeding outside your lip line. I personally never bother with lip liner, but that is mostly just because I like to keep the steps to doing my makeup minimal.
And so here we have the final look! It’s easy, it’s quick and it’s UNIVERSAL- you could have the total opposite skin tone, eye color or hair color to me and you’ll still look fab.

And to finish it all off.. of course you need a pretty outfit! I went for something a bit non-traditional in that it’s not red or pink, because I didn’t want to go overboard as I already have the bright red lip going on. Have fun with your outfit too and remember that you don’t HAVE to wear red or pink if it’s just not for you!
What do you think of this look? Do you have any Valentine’s Day plans?

I love Benefit stuff! Have a great Valentine’s Day!
Chelsea says
Right? Benefit is my ultimate favorite brand! I am a little biased because I’m mostly obsessed with their packaging more than anything… but I know for sure that their mascara is the BOMB.
Laura says
I love this look! the grey is really pretty and the lip color just stands out! You could easily do the look up or down a little by adding in accessories or a bolder eye shadow color. Great base look! Love it! And Rimmel is one of my favorite brands. The eye shadow quads are fun. I love earthy-toned colors like that one. Pretty!
Chelsea says
That’s exactly what I was going for. A red lip is so fun! And I totally agree with your suggestions. I would use a more pigmented palette, like the Naked palette, if I were to wear this out at night :) Rimmel has so many good products and I think they are totally underrated!

You look great. I am terrible with makeup and love anything that comes in a package together, or gives instructions/ideas!
Chelsea says
Well that is what easy tutorials like this are for! As long as you have a good fluffy brush to blend it all in, it’ll probably look good in the end, haha :)
