YOU GUYS. The Urban Decay Moondust Palette was not something I thought I needed when photos of it first started circulating, but now that it’s in my hot little hands…. ohhhh man, did I ever need it. I have seriously been craving some major sparkle and glitter in my life lately and this palette checks off those boxes perfectly!
Let’s start with packaging. It couldn’t be more perfect for the palette itself, with it’s gorgeous silver glitter and mirror details. The inside is a sleek and simple black 8-pan palette with a large mirror (bonus points for the big mirror!).
There are eight different Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadows in this palette and they are ALL new. These shadows are so intensely sparkly (with pretty minimal fallout considering they are so glittery, I might add) and just add a ridiculous amount of oomph to an otherwise basic eye look. You can apply these dry for a more semi-opaque wash of glitter, or you can apply them wet to see them really come to life.
Included in this palette are eight gorgeous shades:
- Specter (a soft pink with tonal sparkle)
- Element (a peach with pink shift and sparkle)
- Magnetic (a purple with blue sparkle)
- Lightyear (a vibrant green with tonal sparkle)
- Granite (a gunmetal with multicolored sparkle)
- Lithium (a brow with iridescent 3D sparkle)
- Vega (a bright blue with tonal sparkle)
- Galaxy (a smoky blue-gray with iridescent 3D sparkle)
The below swatches were done wet with no primer, and I didn’t up the contrast in the swatch photo- they are seriously that intense!
Each of the eight shadows are 0.8g/0.02oz in size (around half the product that you’d get in a single Moondust eyeshadow). The palette retails for $49USD/$70CAD while a single Moondust eyeshadow retails for $21USD/$25CAD, so buying the whole palette is a pretty good deal if you want to try a bunch of different shades at once.
