I’m not going to get too into the nitty and gritty of how thredUP works, simply because I’ve already done that here and here, but a quick explanation is that it’s essentially secondhand shopping, just online. thredUP combines the perks of finding no longer available pieces and ridiculously inexpensive prices, but without the downside of having to spend hours sifting through junk in a store. I am absolutely in love with the whole concept of it and wanted to share my thredUP haul with you!
One thing (of many) that I really love about thredUP is that even though you are buying secondhand (though there are new items on the site as well, I’ll get into that in a sec), you are still getting the feels of as if you just bought something brand new from a store and paid full price. They send your purchase in a cute thredUP box, wrapped in pretty packaging. While I only spent $50 on this haul (for 9 different items- crazy, right?!), the way everything was so nicely packaged made me feel like I had spent $500.
PS- Duke likes the skirts I bought, especially this Lush one (that was only $5.49!)
I wanted to try-on and share a couple of the items that I had featured in this post. The romper was from Forever21 and was a whopping $6.99 (in like new condition), the dress is from Rue21 and was $5.99, and last but not least (most certainly not least, because how cute is that print and color combo?!) is this one shoulder cocktail dress from Lush, which I paid a whole TWO dollars and forty-nine cents for. Yes, you heard that right.
PPS- Duke wanted to give me a hand in removing any tags that were still on brand new items, like this Charlotte Russe skirt. According to the tag, this was originally $9.99- I got it for $4.99, brand new!
Other items that were in my haul: a bright, striped Lush sweater for $1.99, a red plaid Mossimo poncho for $6.99 (I’m going to wear this like craaaazy come fall!), a cute red Billabong tank for $8.99 and a lavender Lush skirt for $7.49.
Other great things about thredUP: they have free shipping over $79 (otherwise a flat rate of $5.99), free returns (up to 14 days after receiving your purchase), you can sell your own clothes through thredUP, you can search the site by sizes and brands… the list goes on. Need I say more?
