There’s about a month of summer left and just thinking about that makes me so sad and also kinda happy all at once. I love fall, but this has also been such a good summer so far that I’m not sure I want it to end! I thought I’d chat about some more of my summer favorites (I already did posts on the best summer drugstore products and my summer vacation must-haves), but instead of talking about makeup, I figured that this time I’d focus on some non-makeup favorites of mine.
First up is The Art of Braid Hair Kit from the Sephora Collection. This is such a handy little kit that I’ve used a ton this summer- braids are definitely my fallback hairstyle when it’s super hot and I can’t deal with having my hair down, but still want to look put together. I hadn’t really tried many Sephora brand products prior to this summer, so this was a really fun intro to them. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Sephora comes out with for fall!
I have dry skin, whether it be summer or winter, so I am constantly slathering on a body butter of some sort. This summer, my go-to has been Soap & Glory’s The Righteous Butter. It is sooooo ridiculously hydrating. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and the scent is seriously delicious. My next fave is the Bliss Fuzz Off Foam. Sometimes I am just way too lazy to shave my legs and I’d rather slather on some foam and chill. I feel like not much more needs to be said about that because I bet most of you can relate, haha. ;)
I had seen First Aid Beauty reviews on a few of my favorite blogs over the few months (they were all beaming, by the way) and so I had super high expectations for their products when I finally got to try them. They absolutely lived up to those high expectations. The Vitamin Hydrating Mist has saaaved my skin after a long day in the sun when it was feeling particularly parched- it is just the most hydrating, refreshing thing ever. The Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel is a godsend on super hot days. I apply it after my serum in the morning and under all my makeup. It definitely helps to keep the shine at bay!
And last but not least, another Sephora Collection product. I can’t find this baby online, so my apologies (check in store near the cash register line up, that’s my guess)- but it’s a gel eye mask that you pop in the fridge or freezer to cool down, then place over your eyes. It feels soooo good when you wake up with puffy eyes (hello allergies) or when you really want to kick back and relax while pampering yourself.
One quick note- Sephora is having their 2x – 4x the points on all purchases event until August 9th, so if any of these products are tickling your fancy (or any products at all!), now is definitely the time to shop. Use the code TRENDS at checkout on a purchase of $25 or more (while supplies are still available, of course) and you can get a deluxe sample of the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer that I reviewed yesterday! Make sure to also use Ebates to get 4% cash back on your purchase.
What is your favorite non-makeup summer beauty product?
Kath TheFabZilla says
Oh yes, I took advantage of 4x points, shopped via ebates and used trends. Shopping buddies we are, haha

Hahahah two peas in a pod ;)

I keep hearing about the Soap and Glory cream. I need to try it. I’ve had terrible allergy eyes all summer. I could use that mask!
Chelsea says
Oh man, it’s so nice. The perfect thickness and it just smells soooo good. I feel like I always just have terrible allergy eyes haha, damn hay fever!
Nidia - Lit From Within says
Is it bad that I’ve already gone and shopped there, using Ebates and getting that sample with TRENDS? Now, just to wait by the mailbox… I’ve never seen that Sephora braid book, how cool is that? I love braids, but most of them mystify me. I can’t do a Fishtail, but I can do a French braid like no one’s business. LOL.
Chelsea says
LOL that’s you and Kath both having said this now! It’s just way too tempting not to. I can do a fish tail and a french braid, but that’s about the extent of my braiding skills, ahah!
Kim says
Um, I NEED to get my hands on that Bliss Fuzz Off Foam. Sometimes = all the time for me because I am lazy. I definitely need that in my life! Great Post gorgeous, hope you are having a wonderful week! XO -Kim

So handy!
Sammi the Beauty Buff says
I’ve never tried anything besides lip glosses by the Sephora brand, but that braid set looks too cute! My hair is a little too short and layered for anything other than a french braid, but I’d like to experiment with them when it grows more!
Chelsea says
I’ve heard that their lipglosses are really good! Do you like them? And I feel ya- I have longish hair but it’s layered so I can only do so much with braids right now!
Cindy (Prime Beauty) says
I love Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter! I’ve been using it and Flake Away all summer!
Chelsea says
I use that one as well! I just love them all!

That Art of Braid Hair Kit sounds really interesting. I suck at doing my hair and never thinking of braiding it – it sure is long enough for that! I’ll have to look into that kit.
Kristi says
The Art of Braid Hair Kit is so cute! I also love that body butter from Soap & Glory. Everything they do is amazing.
