I love the matte lipstick look, but as I’ve mentioned a million times before, my permanently dry lips really don’t pull off matte formulas well. It’s rare I find a matte lip formula that does work for me, and the Tarte Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tints are one of those matte lipstick unicorns for me.
There are eight different shades in this collection, so there literally is a nude for everyone. While most of these shades seem quite similar when swatched, there are definite- albeit slight- differences to each one. I love that these weren’t just focused on trendy mauve shades (though I do love me a trendy mauve shade, haha), but there are also pinky nudes, peachy nudes and brown nudes. My two faves are Whisper and Envy.

I’m so glad to have found a matte formula that isn’t too drying on my already dry lips! These apply like a balm, but set to a soft matte finish that doesn’t suck the life out of my lips. They certainly aren’t as long wearing as a liquid lipstick, for example, but I can sip on a drink or have a snack without them completely disappearing.
The Tarte Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tints retail for $24 each at Sephora and ULTA. The price does seem a little steep, but I don’t think this is a product line that you need to own every single shade of, but rather a couple different shades that look like your lips, but better.
Have you picked any of these up?
