I am equal parts subscription box junkie and huge fan of trying out Canadian-made products, so when I was asked to review the new Sweet Oak Craft Care subscription box, my interest was definitely piqued! Sweet Oak is a monthly subscription that features 4-5 handmade, natural products from Canadian makers.
The Sweet Oak Craft Care box for May 2018 came with four products:
- Delia Organics Wake-Up Moisturizing Lotion ($16.99)
- Wilderness Soap Co. Rosemary Mint Soap ($9)
- Beth and Olivia Pink Clay Face Mask ($10)
- Natural Panda Rose Blend Bath Bomb ($4.50)
I’ve received Delia Organics products several times in various subscription boxes now. I have liked most of the products I’ve received and tried out, but the excitement of the brand has worn off for me a bit. The Wake-Up Moisturizing Lotion is a very light moisturizing toner with a gel consistency. Delia Organics recommends wearing this under a moisturizer, which I definitely agree with as I don’t get enough hydration from this alone for my dry skin.
I haven’t tried out the Wilderness Soap Co. Rosemary Mint Soap yet, but I am pretty confident I’ll love it! The rosemary mint scent is really nice and this 100% natural soap is packaged full of oils to keep my skin soft and hydrated.
I have an aversion to dry face masks for some reason, haha. I think it’s purely laziness- I’d just rather have something be ready to go straight onto my face than have to mix it up myself. With that being said, I don’t know if I’ve tried a pink clay mask before so I will definitely put this Beth and Olivia Pink Clay Face Mask to use, especially since it claims to be suitable for dry skin.
Sadly enough, the product I’m most excited about in this box is one I can’t even use right now! The Natural Panda Rose Blend Bath Bomb is gorgeous (you can even see all the pretty rose petals on top of it) and I’m dying to use it, but as I’ve mentioned previously, our current house doesn’t have a bath in it. Guess I’ll be bringing this bath bomb over to my parent’s house next time I visit, haha.
The May 2018 Sweet Oak Craft Care box sold for $40 (including shipping) and had an approximate value of $40.49. I’m used to subscription boxes being worth a lot more than they actually cost, so I was a little surprised when tallying that up. Even still, it’s a great way to be able to test out Canadian-made, natural products that I otherwise never would have discovered (and to be fair, it would have cost much more if I was paying to have each of these items shipped individually).
Sweet Oak has dropped the price on future boxes to $30 and while the May box was based strictly around body care products, they’re now going to include snack and beverage items in their boxes as well (heck yesss, send me all the organic teas and coffees, please!). Use code CHELSEA10 to save 10% on your first box (until July 16th, 2018)!
