We’ve all heard me preach the wearing of all the sunscreen and the whole no tanning business many times before, right? I am obviously very fair skinned and my tanning abilities are very much non-existent, and not only that, but I also don’t want to subject myself to all the nastiness that too much sun on the skin can do to you. Because of this, I have tried endless amounts of self tanners to get that golden summer glow without the sun damage, and I definitely have a few favorites!
I first tried Jergens Natural Glow around ten years ago I believe (though it may have been called something else back then, maybe Jergens Gradual Tanner? I can’t quite remember), and was so happy with the confidence it gave me by simply not being the super pale girl (I had much less self confidence back then, and I swear anyone who is not pale just can’t help but point out that you’re pale- as if you don’t already know that, haha). I have used many of the different variations that have been released by Jergens since then, including an express tanner, a firming gradual tanner and this newer Jergens Natural Glow gradual tanner that is made with black tea and is also super moisturizing.
I honestly think the pictures can do the talking here. Here is the before:
And here is after only THREE uses of the Jergens Natural Glow in medium to tan (I prefer this one over the fair to medium simply because it gives you more of a tan quicker)! The results are a very natural glow with no streakiness and no dark patches around my ankles/knees like I often get from other self tanners because I’m extra bony in those areas. My legs are also SO soft and hydrated because this specific tanner is infused with a moisturizer as well!
Having a little glow to my skin makes me feel a thousand times more confident in a pair of shorts, a skirt or a dress. Not only do I feel like my legs just generally look way nicer with a tan, but I also love that with the gradual tan aspect of this product, you don’t get the potential streakiness that you get with “instant” tanners.
One thing I must mention- it contains ingredients that I have almost entirely cut out of all of my other beauty products, but this is one of those “special occasion products” for me, kind of like nail polish. I don’t use it all the time because of the ingredients, but I allow myself a little leniency for the fairly rare occasion that I’d like to give myself a pretty summer glow.
Best of all, you can save $1.50 on this product (as well as several others) at the Kroger family of stores during their upcoming Beauty Event from May 28th to June 10th. All you need to do is visit Kroger.com (or any of their other stores, like Fred Meyer, City Market, etc), hover over the Savings tab and then hit Digital Coupons. You’ll find a TON of products to save a bunch of money on! Make sure you check out what else is on sale, like $1 off any prduct from one of my fave drugstore haircare brands, Shea Moisture.
