The Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa was easily the most luxurious place we stayed while in Southeast Asia. After a few weeks of backpacking, there was nothing I appreciated more than a huge, comfy bed and a rooftop pool to relax in! This five star hotel (which is more like a resort, really), located a mere 20 minutes from the Phuket airport, is nothing short of paradise.
See? Paradise. I got a tour of most of the different rooms they offer, and they were all absolutely STUNNING. Some had kitchenettes, living rooms and private pools, and they all had huge soaker tubs and the comfiest beds ever. We stayed in a Deluxe King room and were SO impressed. If we didn’t have so many cool things to do while we were there (like the speedboat tour we did with Buffalo Tours), we probably could’ve caught up on sleep all day in those cozy beds!
Instead of succumbing to the comfiness, we spent our time at Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa by relaxing in the rooftop pool, checking out the Dream Beach Club, visiting the spa, and eating. Hard life, I know. ;)
All of the rooms border the huge main swimming pool, which is amazing to spend the day swimming in/laying by in one of the little cabanas. The perk of it being low season while we were there is that there was always very few people in the pool, so you could relax in peace!
There is one on-site restaurant called Trilogy, a pool bar at the main pool, a cocktail bar at the rooftop pool called Vu, and a fine wine bar called Indulge that can be rented out for private meetings and events. There is definitely no shortage of food or drink here, however it is all on the pricy side (as you’d expect at a luxury retreat like this), so I wouldn’t eat/drink there for every single meal.
We enjoyed a fixed menu dinner prepared by the chef at Trilogy and it was delish. There were fresh coconuts (which I miss SO. DANG. MUCH. since returning home from Asia), a large selection of yummy Thai appetizers (the prawn crackers were so good, oh my gosh) so we could get to try all sorts of things, and the most beautifully prepared fresh fruit for dessert. Look at those carving skills!
Breakfast is included in the room price, and they had the best complimentary breakfast out of all the different places we stayed at on our month long trip. You could get pancakes, waffles and eggs made right there to your liking, and there were all the usual fixings like bacon, pastries and fresh fruit. Breakfast is my most favorite meal of the day and Dream Phuket definitely did not disappoint!
The hotel offers complimentary shuttles at certain times during the day to Patong, Phuket Town, Boat Avenue and the Dream Beach Club, which is awesome because it’s a bit far from those areas and the taxis would add up otherwise.
The Dream Beach Club is located a few minutes drive away (by complimentary shuttle) at Layan Beach. It’s a private beach club that boasts two pools, a restaurant, four bars (one of which turns into a nightclub at night) and plenty of sun beds, all at the edge of the ocean. Unfortunately, we were visiting during the low season, so it was super quiet when we were here, but I can imagine how awesome it would be during high season! Even still, it was really nice to go and relax on the beach and have a drink at.
Layan Beach also gave us the most beautiful sunset we saw on our whole trip. It was unreal!
On our last day at the Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa, we got to indulge a little bit (as if we hadn’t indulged enough while we were there, haha) at the spa. We had got SO sunburnt the day before on the speedboat tour we did, so we both opted for the after sun wrap.
In short, it involved getting slathered in aloe, wrapped up for 20 minutes so the aloe soothes your skin and sucks the heat out, and then having the rest of the aloe massaged into your whole body. It felt amazing and my sunburn felt 1000x better after. I highly recommend this if you visit!
I should also note that the staff at Dream Phuket were SO kind and helpful. From the pool bartender to the servers to the front lobby staff, they were all so welcoming and friendly. They made our experience at Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa that much better!
I can’t recommend Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa enough if you’re looking to add a little luxury into your Thailand vacation. It was a much-needed haven for us after backpacking for weeks and jumping from hostel to hostel, and I’d absolutely love to go back someday!

The decor and amenities look so elegant and relaxing!! I really need to catch up on my travels as well. I’ve been trying to stay at nicer places now as I find it can really make or break a trip.

It was soooooo gorgeous! And so, so true. The cheap side of me always wants to book the least expensive place, but I usually end up regretting it!

This resort looks incredible! I’ve been looking into different places for when we will be traveling to SE Asia (hopefully next year), and will definitely check this out. Thanks for sharing!

Don’t worry, not going to Phuket isn’t that unfortunate haha. It was our least favorite place (other than this beautiful hotel and the really cool boat tour we did, of course) out of our whole trip. Too rowdy and overly touristy for us!
