1. There is so much to do!
I never run out of things to do when I visit Seattle. Whether it be shopping, spending hours wandering the Pike Place Market, checking out the Museum of Pop Culture (I highly recommend this!), or seeing a Mariners game, I always have a good time!
2. The first ever Starbucks was in Seattle
You guys know the basic b in me LOVES Starbucks, so obviously this is an important point! The “original” Starbucks actually isn’t in it’s original location, but moved to the spot it’s in now in the ’70s. Fun fact: the first time I ever went to Seattle, I took pictures in front of the wrong Starbucks thinking that it was the original one, haha. #fail
3. It is home to the Pike Place Market
This is easily the coolest market I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve been to a fair few during my travels in Asia, Europe and Canada. You can spend hours wandering through here! It’s a mishmash of to die for eats, fish being thrown around (no, seriously!), dusty old book stores, knickknacks galore, flea market AND farmer’s market vibes, a ton of fresh flowers and a beautiful ocean view.
Oh, and it has the gum wall. Totally gross, but a must see. I go to the market pretty much every single time I’m in Seattle!
4. There is no shortage of delicious food!
I leave Seattle with a happy belly every time. A couple faves from my most recent visits are Pike’s Pit Bar-B-Que in Pike Place Market (which has the most incredible pulled pork sandwiches) and Pike Place Chowdery (the best seafood chowders you’ll ever eat), which is across the street from the market in Post Alley.
