You heard it here first, folks: the NARS Velvet Lip Glide is THE gloss of all glosses. Yep, I went there! You NEED these in your life! I am SO obsessed with this formula (and yes, it’s confirmed- I’ve officially become a full blown lip gloss addict at this point) and the color range is actual perfection. NARS has absolutely killed it with this new release!
I thought I may have found my most favorite gloss formula when I first reviewed the Dior Addict Ultra Gloss a while back, but this is definitely better, and for several reasons! First of all: the color range, while currently limited to 12 shades (I think, anyways), is SO me. Also, there’s no shimmers which is a huge plus in my books.
They’re also quite pigmented, but not so pigmented that you need to apply with the precision of a liquid lipstick. You’re getting the color payoff without a difficult application. And, on that note, the brush is super easy to work with, even on my thin lips.
There is NO. STICKINESS. WHATSOEVER. with the NARS Velvet Lip Glides. I didn’t think that was even possible! I have no idea how NARS did it, but they did. They are said to have a semi-matte finish, which is more of a satiny-almost-glossy-but-not-quite, in my opinion anyways, and I LOVE it (really though, is there anything I don’t love about these? Nope!).
Below, I’m wearing the shade Bound.
The formula is incredibly hydrating and because of that, the NARS Velvet Lip Glides are SO comfortable to wear. They contain water lily flowers and white tea extract which provide antioxidants and major hydration. They honestly feel like you’re wearing a soft, non-waxy lip balm. Heaven on the lips. As for scent, they do have one, but it’s so barely there that I wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t just give the wand a good sniff, haha.

At $26 ($34CAD) a pop, these are definitely an investment- but a completely worthy one, if you ask me. These are THAT good, I promise.
