NARS is one of my favorite makeup brands because they come out with a) consistently good products and b) a lot of products in shades I would and do use on a daily basis. I find everything from them so wearable, and the NARS fall 2016 Powerfall collection is no exception.
Let’s start with a product that’s new to NARS- the NARS Velvet Eyeliner. It’s available in nine shades, and below I have Kaliste (a teal), Last Frontier (an espresso) and Black Moon (a black). I’ll admit, I don’t use pencil liners all that often anymore (unless I’m going in on my lower lashline with a pop of color or I’m tightlining), but it’s one of my goals to get more use out of them because I have SO many in my collection that I’m just not willing to part with.
These NARS Velvet Eyeliners have definitely achieved “not willing to part with” status, thanks to their creamy (but not slippy) formula and the fact that they aren’t so dry that they tug at my eyelid upon application like a lot of pencil liners tend to do. They stay in place all day long without smudging, but with one exception- these aren’t the best for tightlining unless you’re wearing the same liner on your waterline as well, as they do transfer down. My favorite part is how pigmented they are with one swipe of color- it doesn’t take a bunch of back and forth to build up the color to be as intense as I want.
NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows are just a whole different breed of beautiful. There are three in this fall collection: Antares (an iridescent white gold), Rigel (a shimmering rose gold) and Arcturus (a shimmering deep indigo). I have Rigel shown below, and man… is it ever stunning. This is one of those “one and done” shades that you can just put all over your lid and leave the house feeling like a diva, haha.
I only just discovered how amazing the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are last winter when I finally tried my Sephora birthday gift (which was two mini versions of these pencils). These pencils are so, so creamy (even though they are matte), aren’t super drying, and wear surprisingly well throughout the day. There is one other shade in this fall collection, Infatuated Red, which is limited edition.
I used to get SO many compliments when I wore the red Cruella shade that came in the birthday gift. Unfortunately, I broke it when I was walking downtown one day- the whole pencil part just fell out and onto the ground, so there was no saving it. I’m super glad I have a new one in my stash, this time in the shade Consuming Red, which is bolder and deeper than Cruella, but just as gorgeous!
Also in the NARS fall 2016 Powerfall collection is two shades of NARS Contour Blush: Melina (a cafe au lait and espresso combo) and Talia (a light caramel and nutmeg combo). You should now be able to find this collection at all the usual NARS retailers: Sephora, The Bay, Nordstrom and NARScosmetics.com!
Is anything from the NARS fall 2016 Powerfall collection on your shopping list?
