I LOVE pumpkin. Pumpkin everything. I guess it just kind of goes hand in hand with my obsession with #allthefallthings. While I am no whiz in the kitchen, I do put in the effort to make some pumpkin goodies when this time of year comes around and so far I’ve had pretty good luck with pumpkin recipes!
When I was living in New Zealand, I once made this giant batch of tiny pumpkin pies to feed to all the poor souls (aka my friends, family and coworkers) who had never tried pumpkin pie. No joke- this country does not do pumpkin as a sweet thing, it’s always in a savory form. I am pretty sure I changed lives forever with those pumpkin pies! Hahaha. Or not. But still, everyone was into the whole pumpkin pie situation and I was feeling like a proud and true North American.
I also once made this pumpkin danish thing that was SO GOOD. Remember how I said I’m no whiz in the kitchen? It was essentially just pumpkin pureeĀ and greek yogurt (and maybe some honey? I can’t remember) mixed together and slopped onto some Pillsbury crescent dough. Voila. They were amazing. If you’re feelingĀ like baking something a bit more legitimate, check out these 25 pumpkin recipes I’ve gathered up for you below. They all sound amazing and I am definitely going to be trying some myself this fall! Be sure to share the love and pin this!

Yuum! I need to try those!
Cat says
Oooo, those baked pumpkin doughnuts! Yes, please. I’ve heard that they don’t eat pumpkin pie in Australia! Don’t they do squash pie instead (which to me just sounds a bit funny, but it’s basically the same thing….)?

Australians and Kiwis do pies, but pies are a savory thing there. They don’t do sweet pies. It’s so weird, haha. But meat pies are omgheaven! When I go back for Christmas I swear I will probably gain 15 lbs just from eating so many steak and cheese pies!

Did the kiwis name a day after you? Because I would of. What a kind soul to bring the delicious, rich flavours of pumpkin down under. You’re practically a hero. Yes to all of the above.

GIRL! I just booked a ticket to NZ for New Years!! What should I do and see!!! :) :)
Chelsea says
Where are you going to? I’m going to be in New Zealand then too!
GiGi Eats says
REALLY! I am flying into Aukland on the 30th and staying until the 11th….. So I will be exploring the North Island, however, if I am over there, I may see if I can venture to the South Island or even Australia for a few days!
Chelsea says
Oohhh awesome! I’ll be in Auckland too :) I’m flying in early Dec though and leaving the first week of Jan sometime, probably early because my BF has to go back to school :( I’ll be in Mangawhai for New Years. You should definitely get to the South Island if you can because it’s way better than the North Island.. in my opinion. Spend as little time in Auckland as necessary. New Zealand is a stunning country and spend time in Auckland is definitely the worst way to spend it because the city itself isn’t very exciting, haha. Go to Nelson if you can, in the south island. It’s goooorgeous. Or anywhere coastal, honestly. NZ is beautiful :)
Chiara says
