I don’t do a lot of life updates on here anymore, do I? I mean to, but then I feel like nothing exciting enough ever really happens that I haven’t already posted about on Instagram or something… but then I guess not everyone has Instagram or follows me on it so maybe I SHOULD share more lifey things. So here goes.
Lifey thing number one: I am now a vibrant red head. I love it. These pictures make me love it more. I was so sick of my grown out ombre and this was the perfect big change without having to chop off all my hair or bleach the life out of it.
Lifey thing number two: Cole and I are going to New Zealand in December! We’ve officially booked flights, and with Cole’s best friend and my two best friends all living in a couple house radius from us, we are totally covered for apartment sitters as well. Could that work out more perfectly? Haha. On top of all that excitement, my parents and brother have booked their flights as well so we are all going to spend Christmas with Cole’s family. I’m so, so excited! Cole’s family has spent a Christmas over here with my family, but Christmas in New Zealand is entirely different than North America. Here, we would be all bundled up in new PJs, have bacon and eggs for breakfast, open gifts and then have Christmas dinner later on. In New Zealand, it’s hot, for starters, which totally throws me for a loop every time. We have an eggs benny breakfast, champagne with berries, and spend the day eating yummy food, hanging out outside in the shade and drinking wine. Both situations are perfect, just entirely different. I’m super excited for another NZ Christmas with ALL of my family this time and I seriously can’t wait to show my parents where I lived for almost a year and a half of my life. They are going to love it!
Lifey thing number three: I am a big baby with mixing patterns. One time I wore a black + slightly floral tank with leopard print shoes. It literally stressed me out that my patterns were totally not matching, haha. A few days back, Cole and I went down to the market to have soup for breakfast, because we like soup. I was clearly feeling a little risque with the new obnoxious hair and all, so I went all out (ha) and mixed polka dots with leopard. Clearly, I live life on the edge, haha. All of my favorite Instagrammers are all about the pattern mixing and while I idolize their fashion sense and want to wear all the things they wear, I always feel like a weirdo when I try to pull it off myself. Baby steps, right?
Are you risky business when it comes to mixing patterns or do you play it safe like I do?
