I am not sure if I’ve mentioned it here on the blog yet (my memory is terrible so it’s totally possible I have, haha), but we go to Mexico at the end of April for my cousin’s wedding and I couldn’t be any more excited! After this dreary winter, I am dying to get some sunshine on my skin ASAP. It’s under two months until we go now, which seems SO crazy considering we booked back in August or September and at the time it seemed like a lifetime away. I have already started making little lists of everything I need to pack because I’m so worried about forgetting something (I am the WORST last minute packer)!
With all the time I’ll be spending out in the sun and sweltering heat (yaaaas, give me all the heat), I want to make sure I’m properly equipped. Sunscreen is a must have, of course, and while I just use whatever SPF 50+ I can find on my body, I am very picky about what goes on my face since it can be super sensitive with certain sunscreens. The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer (which is SPF 40) has proven to be a worthy contender for my sensitive skin, so I’ll definitely be taking this.
With all that heat, even the driest of faces are sure to get shiny and slick after a while, so I’ll be bringing along my First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel. This is great for soaking up the excess oils on your face without removing the moisture.
I will also be bringing along my Unwash Dry Cleanser because it’s amazing for absorbing all the excess oil in your hair without leaving a thick residue behind, which I find happens to me with a lot of different dry shampoos I’ve tried. Plus, skipping the frequent hair washing means I can spend more time poolside and beachside! ;)
To get all my makeup off at the end of the day, I’ll be relying on these Clinique Take The Day Off Micellar Cleansing Towelettes. I LOVE micellar water and swear by my Bioderma Sensibio, so while I haven’t tried these wipes yet, I have super high hopes for them!
Of course, I’ll be bringing along some Sun Bum Cool Down lotion. It’s inevitable that I will get sunburnt, no matter how often I apply my sunscreen. It just always happens to me, without fail, so I make sure I’m prepared to help suck the heat out of my skin and replenish the moisture with this Sun Bum lotion. The aloe, vitamin E and cocoa butter in it makes my skin feel amazing!
While I’ve only pictured one bikini, you KNOW I’ll be bringing like 12, hahaha. A girl needs options! I got this one from Victoria’s Secret last summer, and it’s SO cute.
I will be the first to admit that I’ll be sweating up a storm while in Mexico, between the hot days spent exploring or hanging out on the beach and the warm evenings where I plan to do plenty of dancing the night away, so I’m not going to mess around when it comes to deodorant. I need something that is reliable and is going to give me the wetness and odor protection I need without having to reapply all the time! The Secret® Outlast Xtend™ deodorant provides 48-hour odor protection that never stops, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
The Secret® Outlast Xtend™ deodorant provides stronger wetness protection than other invisible solid deodorants, so this is most definitely making it onto the packing list. I love that I can apply this in the morning and not have to worry about it all day long, and I’m actually quite interested to see how it holds up in the glorious Mexican heat! Love this stuff!
So, those are my “essentials” that I’ve got on my Mexico packing list thus far! I seriously can’t wait for this trip! It doesn’t hurt that I’ll be turning 25 while I’m there as well.. what a way to ring in a quarter century ;)
Have you ever been to Mexico? We’re going to Playa Del Carmen specifically, so if you’ve been there, let me know if there are any must-see/must-eat places to go and things to do!
