I have officially gone off the deep end with my newfound love for both skincare and fragrances. I officially consider myself an all-out, full-blown beauty addict. The latest fragrance to join the not-so-little I now have going on is Marc Jacobs Decadence, and this perfume has taken center stage for me lately. You all already know how much I love the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes because they fit my floral/sweet/light checklist, however, it seems I’m branching out these days as Decadence is anything but light and sweet. It’s SO different from what I usually wear, but I am obsessed. It’s the most perfect winter scent!
Let’s start with the packaging, because that is a huge selling point for this specific fragrance, in my opinion. I mean, LOOK AT IT. It’s gorgeous! It’s a spin on putting perfume in your purse, and is designed to look like a little purse itself (complete with a chic python print cap, gold chain strap and classy black tassel detailing). I am completely obsessed with this idea and I think it was implemented in the most perfect way.
Decadence has notes of italian plum, iris flower, saffron, bulgarian rose, jasmine sambac, orris, vetiver, papyrus woods and liquid amber. Sephora describes the style as qualitative, opulent and surprising. I have no idea who comes up with the fragrance descriptions, but they’re always way deeper than something I would ever come up with, haha.
I would definitely agree with opulent (it’s a very rich, luxurious scent) and surprising (I didn’t expect it to smell the way it did at all, but it’s SO good), however, I have no idea what qualitative means in regards to scent, haha. This is a much heavier scent than I would usually reach for (I am generally partial to light, sweet, floral scents), but I’ve come to love the glamorous, sensual scent of Decadence. It’s got enough floral in it to keep it from becoming TOO heavy for me.
Marc Jacobs Decadence is the most perfect fragrance for winter and would make a gorgeous Christmas gift! Better yet, it doubles as stylish home decor, haha (seriously though, mine is part of my office desk decor at the moment). Decadence is available at Sephora in a 0.33oz rollerball ($28) as well as a 1.7oz eau de parfum spray ($95) and 3.4oz eau de parfum spray ($120). While a rollerball would be great for stashing in your bag, I highly recommend getting one of the gorgeous sprays!
Have you tried anything outside your usual fragrance choice lately?
