The Mapleblume box for August is hereeeee! Mapleblume is a luxury beauty box that sends out at least five full-sized, high-end, natural/organic/non-toxic skincare and beauty products every two months. You guys know this box is my number one and I eagerly await it’s arrival every couple of months! So many of the skincare and makeup products that I reach for on a daily basis were introduced to me through Mapleblume, so I truly trust their recommendations and always look forward to see what they’ve curated for each box.
This month was incredible! We usually see 5-6 full sized products in the Mapleblume box, but this month there were SEVEN. I always stress the amazing value every time I review this box, and this time it clearly speaks for itself!
However, because some of us like numbers (I hate numbers, but I like value, haha)… the Mapleblume box retails for $120CAD (approx. $94USD) if you purchase a subscription and $130 (approx. $102USD) if you purchase a one time box, and the total value of this month’s box is $257CAD (approx. $200USD). So. Ridiculously. Good.
Let’s get into the Mapleblume August 2017 box!
I’ve tried a couple sample sized products from Suntegrity and really liked them, so I’m super happy to see the Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer SPF 30 ($58) included! I find I’m a lot more diligent with wearing sunscreen under makeup if it’s mixed in with my primer, so I’m glad to have this in my stash. It takes a bit to completely rub in, but once it has, it’s not greasy or heavy feeling at all. It also plays perfectly well under my makeup. Loving this so far!
Oh man, the Abbey Lane Farm Body Oil in Orange Vanilla ($20) smells so good. When I first dropped some onto the back of my hand and smelled it, I thought it was borderline fragrance-free, but the second I rubbed it in, the scent just came to life. It’s like an adult version of orange creamsicles- orangey and vanilla-y, but without that sickening sweetness to it. This absorbs almost immediately and leaves my skin feeling nourished and smooth. Lord knows I shouldn’t have cracked open another body oil without finishing one of the ten I already have open first, but I just can’t help myself with that yummy scent.
The Mapleblume makeup picks are always the best! This month’s big makeup item is the ILIA Beauty Multi-Stick in Cheek to Cheek ($40), a stunning coral shade that is so perfect for this time of year. I love the Multi-Sticks because they can be used on both your cheeks and lips (and on your eyes too, if you’re into that). They start off sheer, but you can build the color up quite a bit. ILIA is one of my favorite clean brands and I was so excited to see them included this month!
I’ve been eyeing up the Luna Nectar Moonstone Tonic for Lashes & Brows ($75) on Instagram for a while now (their gorgeous photos always suck me in!) as I’ve been wanting to find a clean swap for the LiLash serum that I love so much. This non-toxic lash and brow serum is made up of organic cold-pressed oils, vitamins and phytonutrients. I can’t wait to see how this compares!
The Wildcraft Balance Geranium Orange Blossom Toner ($16) smells so good, for starters. You can use it after cleansing, as well as throughout the day for a little pick-me-up. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed!
I love love love Province Apothecary. I’ve tried a variety of their products and have enjoyed every single one, so I’m really glad to see the Province Apothecary Calm Down Therapeutic Roll On ($32) in here! I’m a very scent-oriented person, so anything to do with aromatherapy and essential oils is right up my alley. It contains mandarin to calm irritability, nervousness, stress and anxiety, bergamot and frankincense to relax the mind and body, neroli to relieve chronic anxiety and stress, and roman chamomile to calm and relieve irritation and irritability. I don’t really talk about it on here much, but I deal with anxiety, so I’m really looking forward to having this up my sleeve for the next time I’m not feeling so hot.
I used the Mabrook & Co. Clean Deodorant in Vanilla & Mint ($16) for the first time today and while the jury is still out as it’s too soon to tell, I can tell you that it smells so good and applies so nicely. I’ve tried maaaaany, many natural deodorants and this is one of the best in terms of application. It doesn’t ball up or pull at your skin at all- it just goes on smoothly and gently, like a good deodorant should! I absolutely love the scent, too. While mint-labeled products are usually more peppermint smelling, this is spearmint, which is a very nice change! It smells very fresh and wore pretty nicely for a few hours before starting to fade away.
So there you have it, friends. While this box is obviously much pricier than most subscription boxes out there, it’s easily worth the investment if you’re looking to get into green beauty and skincare (or if you are just wanting to expand your existing collection). The value far exceeds the cost every month and I’m always so, so pleased with the products! Judging by how good the August box is, there’s probably not very many left… so head over here to grab yours now (use code MAPLE10 for 10% off your first box until 08/31)!
