I love the February 2018 Mapleblume box SO. MUCH. I wish I had clapping hand emojis on here just to show you how strongly I feel, haha. Not only did it include a brand I’ve been absolutely dying to try for months now, but it also included a tried and true favorite product of mine in a shade I didn’t already own. YAAAS! In case you’re wondering, Mapleblume is a luxury beauty box that serves as the perfect introduction to natural/organic/clean luxury skincare and makeup products. It’s hands down my most favorite beauty subscription box on the market!
So… what did I get in the Mapleblume February 2018 box? Let’s see!
First up for skincare products, we have the Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream ($60). I’ve wanted to try basically anything from Pai since the very beginning of my green beauty journey, so I’m ecstatic that it’s the featured product in this month’s box! This cream is packed full of matricine and chamazulene (which are skin soothing agents extracted from the chamomile flower), as well as omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9. It’s meant to help repair and regenerate damaged skin, and as I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve had a LOT of sun this year. Even though I wear sunscreen borderline religiously, it isn’t always enough when you’re just getting too much sun exposure, and therefore I’ve definitely accrued some sun damage. I’m really excited to give this cream a try and see what it does for my skin!
The other skincare product in the Mapleblume February 2018 box is the Lavido Age Away Night Cream ($49). I received the Lavido Purifying Cleanser in my April 2017 Mapleblume box and really enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to trying out more from the brand. The Age Away Night Cream is formulated with pomegranate seed, St. John’s wort, bergamot and hyaluronic acid to help renew and hydrate the skin overnight. It’s supposed to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time. Paired with the Pai cream, this sounds like the perfect combo to tackle my sun damage!
The Mapleblume February 2018 box had more of a focus on makeup products this month (it’s usually the other way around- more skincare and less makeup), and I LOVED that. I’d definitely love to continue to see more makeup products in future boxes, because I can only use so many skincare products at once, haha.
The first of the three makeup-related products in this box is the Boosh Lipstick in Bobbie ($26), a medium pink with warm undertones. It has a cream finish, somewhere between glossy and matte (my exact preference when it comes to lipstick!) and is chock-full of hydrating butters and oils and is lightly scented with sweet orange oil. It feels extremely hydrating and comfortable on the lips. I look forward to taking this lipstick on a night out soon!
The shining star of the entire box for me is without a doubt the Antonym Cosmetics Organic Blush in Rose ($36). I already have this in Peach and honestly, it may be my most favorite blush of all time. I’m so stoked to have another shade of this gorgeous blush! It’s so beautifully pigmented, blends so easily, lasts all day and is just overall stunning to work with and to wear. I can’t recommend these enough! I also want to say that at $36, it’s definitely not cheap, but the fact that the ingredients knock any conventional brand’s out of the park in addition to the fact that you get nearly double the amount of product in this than a NARS blush (which you’d shell out $30 for), it’s worth every cent.
And, just to make the whole Antonym blush experience that much sweeter, Mapleblume ALSO included the Antonym Cosmetics Blush Brush #2 ($24), made with a sustainable bamboo handle and laser-cut synthetic bristles. It’s the softest, most lovely to use brush of all time. Obsessed.
Total sidenote: HOLD THE PHONE. I just realized Sephora sells Antonym– that is amazing!!!
The Mapleblume box ships every couple of months (buy your April box ASAP, because Mapleblume is gaining popularity and they’re going quick!) and is $120CAD (approx. $95USD) if you go with the subscription, or $130CAD (approx. $103USD) for a one-time purchase. Read any of my past Mapleblume reviews if you want to see how amazing they are every month, but I promise you they are consistently far beyond worth what you pay for them! This obviously goes without saying, but I can’t recommend this box enough!
