Happy August! I seriously cannot believe it’s already August… anyone else? I know it’s been quiet around here lately, but for good reason: I get married in ONE. MONTH. as of tomorrow and can’t wait! Who knew wedding planning was so time consuming? I’m hopping on here really quick today to share my review of the Mapleblume August 2019 box, so let’s jump into it!
In case you haven’t heard, Mapleblume is a luxury, Canadian-based clean beauty subscription box. Every quarter, you get 5 full and/or deluxe sized products delivered (both skincare and makeup) and I honestly rarely ever buy any new beauty products anymore because this box is so well curated and well timed with me finishing off the previous box’s items.

Here’s what’s in the August 2019 Mapleblume box!

The featured product for August is the Luxe Botanics Kigelia Corrective Moisturizer ($112). I’ve used a few products from Luxe Botanics in the past (all from subscription boxes) and really like the brand! This is a lightweight vitamin and antioxidant rich gel moisturizer that sounds great for summer. I am just about to run out of moisturizer too, so this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! Plus… that packaging though. GORGEOUS.

Malaya Organics is a brand I’ve known about for a while but haven’t yet tried, so I was very excited to see a couple products from them in the August Mapleblume box: the Malaya Organics Moisturizing Body Oil (in Citrus and Bloom) and the Malaya Organics Soothing Beauty Bar (in Rosemary and Lemongrass).
The Beauty Bar ($18.30) is made with comfrey root, lemongrass, rosemary, olive oil and coconut oil for a soothing and skin softening experience. The scent may not be for everyone as it’s pretty “natural,” but I quite like it.
The Moisturizing Body Oil ($59) is a very nice consistency- not too liquidy and not too sticky, and it absorbs into the skin easily. It’s blend of ingredients have an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and also increase elasticity while hydrating and revitalizing skin. Surprisingly, this has a very faint scent- neither very citrusy nor bloomy. This one sounds great for after a long day spent in the sun!
I would’ve preferred to see a face product vs. both body care products, but that may just be my personal preference and I am definitely still looking forward to trying these out!

How adorable is this little Strawberry Kiwi Lip Scrub from Pure Anada ($8)? This is a gently exfoliating organic sugar scrub that is perfect to smooth and soften your lips before applying lipstick. I haven’t tried it yet but I can only imagine how yummy it smells!

And the star of the show (in my opinion- mainly because I get most excited about the makeup inclusions), the RMS Beauty Signature Set in MOD ($59). How gorgeous is this?! I’m a big fan of both the RMS Lip2Cheeks and their cream highlighters, so even though I do already own the full sized versions of 3/5 of the products in here, I am super stoked to have them in a convenient travel format. This is totally coming to Europe with me this fall!

This wasn’t my absolute favorite Mapleblume box of all time (I think the August 2018 box still holds that record for me), but a great box nonetheless! Totally worth every penny for the RMS cream palette and Luxe Botanics moisturizer alone.

The August 2019 Mapleblume box is valued at $256.30CAD and is only $120CAD to subscribe to (or $130CAD for a one-time purchase). Mapleblume is without a doubt the best (both in quality and in value) clean beauty subscription box available. This August box is still up for grabs, so order yours ASAP!
