Between my dad rocking the coke bottle lens glasses in the 90s (don’t worry, he has since upgraded to contacts, haha) and my mom being blind as a bat without her glasses, it was kind of inevitable that one day I’d end up with lousy eyesight. I don’t have the worst eyes by any means, but by grade nine I needed reading glasses, and then in the last few years I “graduated” to needing glasses for #allthethings unless I wanted to squint or raise my eyebrows/open my eyes super wide to see properly (and the latter has left me with expression lines at 24, so if you find yourself doing this, save yourself and GET GLASSES now).
I now wear glasses for reading, TV watching, computering (yeah, that’s a thing), and night driving- basically anything where I need my eyes to super-focus. I have an eye exam booked for next week and pretty soon I’ll be heading into a LensCrafters to find a new pair of glasses for my new prescription and I’m SO excited to have top notch vision again for the times I need it most!
I’ve always shopped at LensCrafters for glasses, simply because they are highly reputable, have competitive pricing and have a great selection of frames (which, let’s be real here, is basically the most important thing to me). I love being able to go to a single place and have a bunch of different options for designer frames, but if I’m being honest, I get SO overwhelmed in glasses stores. I went with my mom last week to help her pick out a new pair of glasses (for the record, she left with a gorgeous pair of tortoise shell glasses… LOVE) and while the selection was amazing, I didn’t even know where to start.
Because of this, I love LensCrafters “My Account” option on their site. I’m able to browse through their huge selection (and even sort it by filters such as face shape and frame style, which is awesome since I already have a good feel for what frame styles look best on my face) and save my favorite frames to my account to check out in store. You can also take the “My Perfect Look” quiz for recommendations of frames that you might love. The quiz definitely nailed it when it said I’ll love Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Tory Burch… because hello, yes!
In addition to helping you select frames, the My Account area lets you book eye appointments (or check when your last one was), keep track of your past purchases and prescriptions, and set reminders for before your vision benefits expire (YES PLEASE to not missing a big deadline like this again!). Signing up for your own LensCrafters account not only helps keep you organized, but if you are to sign up through this link, you’ll receive a $50 bonus (which you can use in conjunction with other in-store offers and your insurance)- and who doesn’t love saving money?
Do you wear glasses or contacts?
