I always feel so successful at blogging life when I get my Ipsy bag posts up in the actual month I received them, haha. I really liked my Ipsy bag this month! The actual bag itself is probably my least favorite of all the bags I’ve got in the year I’ve been subscribed, but I pretty much give away all of the bags at this point anyways because I have so many, so not a big deal. If you’ve never heard of Ipsy, it’s a monthly beauty subscription. You sign up, take a quiz and tell them pretty specifically all of the beauty things you love and hate, and they send you things that they think you’ll like from that month’s selection. They send out a lot of different brands- some new, some that I already love- so it’s nearly always a win-win for me. I love Ipsy!
This month’s theme was “Swim Into Beauty” and the card included read, “Salt in the air, sand in our hair. Cue the lifeguards, because summer will be 5 times the fun when you dive into these beauty must-haves for June.” Here’s what I got!
LAVANILA The Healthy Body Butter (in Pure Vanilla) – This body butter is “100% healthy” with all-natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals. It has a vanilla-ish scent, but not like sweet vanilla… almost a little bit spicy. It’s nice, just not what I was expecting. It absorbs super quick and feels very hydrating. This is the perfect size to stash in my handbag, so I’ll be carrying this around with me everywhere this summer.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – I have a teeny tiny sample of this that I included in my Finish 5 By Fall Challenge, so I might be quite happy to have this when that challenge is done and I’ve used a ton of my primers up. I don’t want to open this up and try it out yet since I have so many primer samples to finish in my challenge, but I have heard good things about this primer so I’m sure I’ll like it.
trèStiQue Mini Shadow Crayon (in Venetian Gold) – This is a new to me brand and this product probably has the cutest packaging I’ve seen in a while. I was totally confused when I opened my bag and saw this, because I was like AHH WHERE’S THE LID? thinking that there would be shadow crayon all over the inside of my bag, but turns out the cap on the product just looks like a shadow crayon ;) The product is a twist up shadow crayon in a really gorgeous gold color. It glides onto the skin so easy and I can imagine I’ll be using this quite often over summer!
IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil (in Universal Taupe) – I was sooo excited to have got this in my bag! There were two products that I was really excited about potentially receiving this month- this brow pencil, and a Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick- so I was glad I got at least one of those things. As with every other IT Cosmetics product I’ve tried, I’m really liking this brow pencil a lot. I especially like the spoolie on it as it’s quite gentle. I brush out the product a lot when filling in my brows because I like them to be as natural as possible, and often my brow area starts to hurt just from using a rough spoolie, but this one is surprisingly gentle! This could definitely replace my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, I’m that happy with it.
Formula X Nail Color (in Power Source) – This is a great summer polish! It’s a pretty mix of red/orange/pink and is nice and bright. I’ll definitely get a ton of use out of this polish.
Overall, another good month with Ipsy! I highly recommend signing up for Ipsy, I’ve been subscribed for a year with zero regrets, and while I did unsubscribe from Birchbox last month, Ipsy definitely isn’t going anywhere! It’s $10 a month (+ $4.95 shipping for Canadians) and I think it’s totally worth it with the value of the five deluxe samples and/or full-sized products they send every month, and I most definitely look forward to the monthly happy mail!
Have you tried any of the products I got in my Ipsy bag this month?
