Over the past couple years with my love of beauty growing fast and strong, it pretty much goes without saying that I have acquired quite the collection of makeup (and skin care, and hair care, and nail product… but we’ll save all that for another day, haha). Even with my monthly purges (and these are no small purges), my collection is pretty huge.
While I obviously can’t use everything all at once, there are tons of products I refuse to part with. Because of this, I’ve had to come up with not only a way to store it all, but also a way to be able to easily rotate out what I’m using on a day-to-day basis.
You have very most likely seen these see-through acrylic makeup organizers before, and you may even own one yourself. I had been organizing my everyday makeup in a couple smaller organizers that I’d found on eBay for the past few months, but the kinda cheap prices (they really weren’t THAT cheap, to be honest) were equalling even cheaper quality. They were clunky, didn’t look very sleek and just overall weren’t worth what I’d spent on them.
Enter O.co (aka Overstock.com, which you may already be familiar with). Their goal in life is to basically get you the best prices possible, and that they do. I had always been familiar with their site for furniture, but did you know that they also sell beauty products? Yes, please! More on that in a sec.
The moment this giant acrylic organizer caught my eye on their site, I fell in love. The edges look so much sleeker than the junk I’d been using before and it looked like it would hold a lot more than my current set up at the time (and that it did!).
The day it came, I was SO excited. I went through my entire makeup collection (which is stored in IKEA Alex drawers- this is a great system for those with large collections, but isn’t the best for storing your everyday makeup) to pick out my current favorites to fill it up, since it holds the prime spot in front of the mirror that I do my makeup at. I still can’t believe how much this holds- I had been quite selective in what I was putting in, but it ended up holding SO much more than I had guessed it would.
In addition to the giant drawers, there is a bunch of storage on top as well. I use the two large sections on the left and middle to store the skincare products I’m currently using (ones that don’t require me to be at a sink, of course) and all of my current favorite foundations and setting powders.
On the right, there is a whole bunch of smaller holders- not so small that they only hold a lipstick, though! I use these for brushes I’m using everyday, setting sprays, lip products, and odds and ends like q-tips, bobby pins and hair elastics. It’s so nice to have space to organize all of the little things!
Speaking of brushes, I grabbed this Morphe brush set from O.co as well. It has quickly become my favorite brush set and I have been using these on a daily basis! While the prices for Morphe brush sets on O.co are a bit more expensive than from Morphe themselves, it definitely evens out when you factor in shipping to Canada (which is super expensive straight from Morphe).
Remember how I mentioned that O.co also sells beauty products? I needed to get a waterproof mascara for my Mexico trip, so I grabbed this one with the rest of my order. It is most definitely waterproof and would hold up all day in the pool without flaking- I love this mascara! They sell a bunch of different beauty brands, from NARS to MAC to Dior to Clinique, and you can often find some really good deals with their pricing, so check back often!
