It took me a lot of trial and error to figure out how to curl my hair with a flat iron back in the day, but now that I’ve mastered it, there’s no going back! I love the loose, natural looking waves I get from a flat iron and I like being able to smooth and straighten my roots while also curling my hair all in one go. It makes doing my hair super quick and borderline effortless!
With that being said, all flat irons are not made equally. I used to have one that my hair would always get caught in the plates when I tried to curl with it! I recently got the Panasonic nanoe™ Flat Iron & Styling Iron and before I even used it to straighten my hair, I had to put it to the test and see how it did with the loose waves that I love so much.
Guys, this flat iron is seriously high tech! The nanoe™ technology works by drawing moisture from the air to create super fine particles that are infused into the hair to keep it looking smooth and shiny (I can totally vouch for this, because my hair looked SO silky and shiny after using this), while the high-recovery heater and smooth ceramic plates maintains a constant temperature for even heat distribution. The Panasonic nanoe™ Flat Iron & Styling Iron heats up within 30 seconds and has five heat settings to choose from. I’m personally a bit ruthless and always crank it as high as possible, haha.
One of my favorite things about this is that the plates don’t extend the full width of the iron, so I’m able to get up super close to the roots of my hair where I get little wavy bits and straighten them without burning my face. That’s always a plus, right? Raise your hand if you’ve ever left your flat iron on by accident and had to race home in a panic hoping you hadn’t burned the place down! Oh… just me? The Panasonic nanoe™ Flat Iron & Styling Iron has an automatic shut off after 60 minutes, so you don’t have to worry about being forgetful anymore. ;)
And for all of you who love international travel as much as I do… UNIVERSAL VOLTAGE! How cool is that?! It automatically adjusts for different voltages, so you don’t need to haul around a converter in addition to an adapter on your travels. On top of all that greatness, it’s very light, has a 9 inch swivel cord (yaaaaaaas) and is just straight up pretty.
Now, for those of you wondering how the heck you even curl your hair with a flat iron… I filmed a video! I wrote a similar post years ago using a picture tutorial and it just doesn’t quite cut it when you’re trying to learn the flat iron waves technique, so hopefully this helps.
You can find the Panasonic nanoe™ Flat Iron & Styling Iron on Target.com for $129.99. So far, I’m loving it. Now that I see how smooth and shiny it makes my hair when curling it, I can’t wait to try straightening with it!

I just recently learned how to do curls with a flat iron. I have like a curl wand as well, but it’s nice to be able to do some waves or curls with the flat iron too.

I really need to learn how to curl with a flat iron… or just curl my hair in general! It’s always been so long that I have a hard time reaching all of it, but a friend recently curled it with a flat iron, and I was super impressed with the waves! Your video is very helpful <3

I always curl my hair with a flat iron. It’s so much easier to do than using a curling wand lol.

I always assumed that I’d have to get a curling iron to get curls. I’ve already got a flat iron. Never thought of using that until I read your post. Will definitely try this out. I’ve bookmarked your page

This looks like a great iron. I have really thick hair and have to be picky about the hot tools that I use. Great review!
