GLOSSYBOX does it again, folks. If you read my post on the Mother’s Day limited edition GLOSSYBOX, you’ll know that I was prettttty impressed with what they had to offer, and while it was a limited edition box, my hopes were still high that the May box would be great, too. It was! To be fair, the second I saw there was a deluxe sample of Glamglow in it, I was the happiest girl ever and it didn’t even matter what else was in the box, but once I got over that, I was pretty excited about everything else too.
First up in my GLOSSYBOX this month is this Doucce Lipstick in shade 907. This is the product in the box that I feel most conflicted about, because there are things I like and dislike about it. Let’s start with dislikes- it doesn’t smell good. It smells like what I remember my mom’s lipstick smelling like back in the early nineties when I’d steal her lipsticks and basically draw all over my face with them, and let’s just say I think the scent has come a long way. It also doesn’t glide onto the lips very well. Those two things being said, once you’ve got it on your lips, it feels quite comfortable. Not really drying OR hydrating, just kind of is there doing it’s lipstick thing. It’s like a matte with a hint of shine, but not a glossy shine… if that makes any sense, haha. The shade is quite nice, though is more of something I’d wear in fall. I really like it on my skin tone, but I think I’ll be saving it for when summer is over. This lipstick retails for $20.
Next is the Clearista (for some reason I really like the sound of that name) Retexturizing Gel. This gel claims to “not only smooth skin and refine pores, but also reduces pigmentation and skin imperfections, including rough skin bumps and rough, dry patches.” I say yes please to all of the above, so we’ll see how this goes! The full size retails for $79.99.
I have like less than half a bottle of hairspray left, so this Sebastian Professional Stylbrid 9 hairspray came at a great time. It’s paraben and alcohol free, so I’m loving the sound of it already! It also offers UV protection with is a huge plus for me. I feel like I’ll go through this bottle pretty quickly, although it is a decent size. The full size retails for $19.96.
The Teeez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer gets an A++++ for packaging. I LOVE the bold floral print! I wish that carried over to the actual polish itself, but oh well. Not totally sure how I feel about this color yet (I need to actually try it to decide), but I think it could be a fun summery nude-ish polish of sorts. It promises a super smooth application and glossy texture- two of my most favorite things in a polish- so it’s sounding pretty good thus far! This polish retails for $14.
I definitely saved the best for last! I basically wanted to jump for joy when I saw that a deluxe sample of Glamglow Powermud was included. I “splurged” on my birthday, and by splurged I mean I coughed up the $19 for the tiny size of the Glamglow Thirstymud because I wanted to try a Glamglow product soooo bad. It’s a slippery slope though, because I fell in love and have since bought a full size of the Youthmud. This was another one I was dying to try, but didn’t want to drop more money on at the moment, so I’m SOOO excited about this being in my GLOSSYBOX! This just made the whole box more than worth it for me. I can’t wait to try this! The full size of this retails for $69.
Overall, I loved this box- but mostly because of the Glamglow. While I’m a bit iffy on the lipstick and maybe the polish, I am excited to try both the hairspray and retexturizing gel, so this box was pretty much a win for me! If you want to try GLOSSYBOX yourself, I have a 15% off your first subscription coupon code that is good for TWO days only, so make sure you use it ASAP! The code is COGBMAY and you can use it here. I highly recommend GLOSSYBOX- it has quickly become my favorite subscription box!
Have you tried any of these products?

My may box is still on its way :) Can’t wait to see what I got!

I would have been happy with this box – for me it would be the lipstick. I have been curious about Doucce lipsticks since I first met with the brand a couple years ago at Cosmoprof. I tried a couple of their products, and was not impressed. But, being a lippie girl, I thought maybe I’d love their lipstick. I just haven’t been motivated to pull the trigger on purchasing! This month makes me miss my Glossybox sub!
Chelsea says
If you can get past the smell (or if it just doesn’t bother you in the first place), it’s a fine lipstick!
Kiss & Make-up says
Agreed, the Glamglow makes this box! Nice :-)
Chelsea says
For sure!
Lauren says
I think this box rocked. I saw what people were getting in their Birchbox these days, and it doesn’t compare to Glossybox or Ipsy!!
Chelsea says
Agreed! I get all three and Glossybox has been the most impressive lately.

I’d jump for joy if I saw glamglow in my box too, those products are pricey! I tried the black mud mask, not sure what it’s called, and it burned so bad I could barely leave it on for five minutes. Boo! But I’ve been curious about the other masks to see how those react, but ugh the price! lol
Chelsea says
Right? So pricey but I love them! And oh no :( I just bought the Tinglexfoliate (the black one) and I loooove it. It does tingle a bit but it’s not painful at all for me. If you have dry skin, definitely try the Thirstymud one overnight. It’s super hydrating!
Julie says
Have you tried Glamglow Thirsty Mud mask? I her it’s clarifying and hydrating but daaaamn expensive.
Chelsea says
Yesss that’s the first Glamglow I tried! I bought myself the small sized one for my birthday and use it overnight and it’s sooooo nice. I love it :)
Kimberly says
While the lip shades are lovely, I am more of a bold color girl. I’d give the GlamGlow a try, though.
Chelsea says
I definitely like a mix of bold and nudes, so I could go either way! The Glamglow was definitely the best part though :)
Destany says
Oh this box looks nice!! I’d like to try out that Glamglow product!
Chelsea says
I can’t wait to give it a try!
Phyrra says
I like the Teez packaging! Curious about that brand.
Chelsea says
Me too! I need to try this polish, but I have fake nails on right now haha.
Carleen says
Hmmm, I want to try Glamglow now!!!
Chelsea says
I looove the two I’ve tried!
Justina says
You got some cute stuff!
Chelsea says
Sure did, it was a good box :)

I received a Douce lipstick in a Wantable box and couldn’t come close to putting it on my lips. It’s so highly fragranced and I can’t believe that brands are still doing that.
The rest of your box seems nice but the lipstick not so much.
Chelsea says
Agreed, it’s odd that they’re still doing that when people are so particular on scent these days.
Kath TheFabZilla says
I love Glamglow Powermud. I repurchased it numerous times. It does the job and is the least stinging out all of the mud versions
Chelsea says
Definitely excited to try it!

I’ve tried the GlamGlow before, and it’s fine – but I can’t get over how it has like, leaves, in it. What looks like leaves and twigs. It’s cool that you got to try it in the sample, though! Sounds like a great month.
Chelsea says
Hahahah in a weird way, I liked that it had the leaves and twigs in it ahhaha. It made me feel so one with nature LOL.
Jess Scull says
Amazing box! That GlamGlow is everything!
Chelsea says
Riiight!
THE FEMININE FILES says
I havent gotten a Glossybox in about a year, but every time I see a review I wish I did haha! That polish packaging is adorable and I like the sounds of that retexturing mask!
Chelsea says
I’m exciting to try out the mask for sure! We’ll see how it goes :)
Honeygirlk says
Ooh – this looks like a fab box this month. I miss getting Glossybox… they no longer ship to Hawaii, so I can’t get them, eagerly waiting for that to change :)
Chelsea says
Awww that’s so lame!! I hope it changes soon!
Lisa Heath says
I would have been happy with this months box!
Chelsea says
It was pretty good!
Brooke @ Blushing Noir says
Aw I miss my Glossybox! This looks like such a good one!
Chelsea says
It’s def my favorite subscription!
Chantal says
I was with Glossybox when they were in Canada a few years back, but did not sub again cause I was on mat leave and products were just accumulating (which is why I cancelled my Ipsy sub). Overall this is a great box!
I know what you mean about that lipstick scent, and although it’s kind of an “old” scent, I like it because it reminds me of my mom – kinda like how you described it.
I love the packaging of Teeez products! I got a few in my Luxe Box – and 2 nail polish that look a lot like the shade you got, which is not a shade I’m really fond of unfortunately. What colour is this one?
Chelsea says
Haha yeah, I just cancelled Birchbox because I’m overloaded and am trying to work my way through samples, but I can’t bring myself to cancel Ipsy just yet haha.
Glad you know what I’m talking about! I mean, it’s not an awful scent by any means but it’s just not something I love. I’ll still use the lipstick because it’s a pretty color, though!
It’s packed away as I just moved so not 100% sure on the color, and in the bottle it looks like something I may not be a fan of but I guess I won’t know until I try!
Lisa says
Great box! I would have used all the items in this. I’m intrigued by the polish since it’s a brand I’m not familiar with. I’m going to have to look it up. Thanks for the post!
Chelsea says
Yeah I’m interested to see how the polish is too! I have it packed away because I just moved but I definitely plan to try it ASAP :)
365hangers says
Oh woah, Glossybox sounds like it is easily the best subscription box for beauty out there. Every time we see a review we get sucked in lol
xx 365Hangers
Chelsea says
It honestly is!
Leanna says
Your glossy box reviews are always awesome. As much as I would love this, I feel like I would LOVE IT TOO MUCH! I am so addicted to subscription boxes, but being able to just try out products is amazing! That GlamGlow looks great!
