If you follow me on Snapchat, you would already know that the Essie Gel Couture Polish is literally the best nail polish of all time. You would also already know that basically every nail polish ever chips on my nails within 24 hours of me applying it. I have super brittle nails, so nail polish just doesn’t ever last past a day (or two, max) for me… until now.
Essie is my favorite nail polish brand, and not because their regular polishes last really well on me or anything, but basically just because I love their packaging and colors and everything that is the brand. With this new Gel Couture line, though, Essie has officially given me the very best reason to love their brand so much: these polishes DO. NOT. CHIP.
Don’t believe me? Here are some of my results below. I’ve tried several different shades now, and they all perform the same. On average, I’ll get about 6 days of wear out of the polish before wear starts to show at the tips of my nails. And note that I say wear, not chips.
You can see an example of this in the last image- the polish has worn away at the tips a bit from doing everyday stuff (I even did some serious gardening when I had that last polish on and got NO chips) like cooking, cleaning, etc, but they aren’t actually chipped. Yes, I have experienced chips a few times with this polish (it would be totally insane if I didn’t), but they usually don’t happen until around the five day mark, and it’s usually the tiniest little corner of my thumb from opening packages or whatever.
These polishes are a simple three step process: two coats of color, and one coat of topcoat. That’s it. They dry pretty fast, too. There are 42 shades in this collection, and I own like ten so far. I originally received the shades shown in this post as press samples, but I have gone out and bought several more since then because they are THAT good.
The Essie Gel Couture Polishes retail for $11.50 at ULTA (and something like $13 – $14 at Shopper’s Drug Mart, if you’re in Canada), and I promise you- they are worth EVERY penny.
Have you tried these yet?

I love the colors! I will have to use my nail polish and see if I can accomplish a semi-decent at home manicure tonight.

This sounds fab! I always find with regular nail polish it chips or I mess it up within a few minutes – will have to keep an eye out for this line!

I haven’t tried these yet, but I’m always looking for a polish that doesn’t chip. I might have to check these out! I love Essie so it should be a win.

All I ever use is Essie nail polish. I would love to try this, but I just don’t know if I can spend that much on nail polish.

I haven’t tried the gel like line yet. I do like the new bottles even if they don’t match the old ones.

Oh my gosh, this is like GREAT. I need this in my life, I took off my fake nails so I will be switching polishes weekly, maybe daily. I like that it looks so great after 7 days! So amazing.

These are gel-like manicures. I find I only get about a week out of them just like regular polish sadly.

I am so, so in love with Essie Gel Couture – I’ve blogged about them myself. That BRUSH… it’s everything I have always wanted in a polish brush. I don’t even care about the top coat (although it’s nice)… I just want to buy tons of the polish. haha

I was looking for a polish that wasnt a gel that lasted long. The gels are ruining my nails ! Thanks for this review
