I can’t believe that it’s already time for spring collections… that’s both totally exciting and also a bit terrifying after how much I bought over the holidays with all the amazing sales and releases happening. I love spring makeup because it always tend to be light, fresh and glowy, and the Dior Spring 2016 Glowing Gardens Collection completely reflects that! This collection was inspired by Christian Dior’s love for a beautiful blossoming garden and I think it’s just gorgeous.
There were two Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes released in the Spring 2016 collection: Rose Garden, which features shades of lilac, soft pink (which is more of a rose gold, in my opinion), lilac, vibrant yellow and cool medium brown, and Blue Garden, which features shades of peach, sky blue, blue iris, cool medium brown and subtle grey. These palettes retail for $63USD/$70 CAD. Pictured below is Rose Garden, and while this palette is so not something that I would usually choose because I’m definitely a neutrals girl, I’m really excited to try my hand at a look using the green and yellow shades. Stay tuned for that! PS- look at how beautiful that floral imprinting is.
Also, totally impressed that these light, pastel shades show up on my fair skin. Granted, I did build up the color a few swipes for these swatches (the last swatch is of the Illuminating Powder, which I’ll chat more about at the end of the post), but that goes to show how buildable these colors are and that they can actually work for us pale girls as well! Bring on the pastel looks!
Not technically part of the Glowing Gardens Collection, but released at the same time, is the Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner, which retails for $32USD/$36CAD. This is a universal shade that is meant to boost the natural color and contour of your lips. It contains a “Volume Booster” technology that is supposed to help smooth, define and fill in the lip contour. I have quite small lips to begin with, so I’ll take all the volume boosting I can get, and my freckles make it difficult to follow my lip line, so I think a universal shade that enhances my natural lip color is going to be great for me.
Let’s pause and take a moment for how beautiful this nailpolish is… okay, done. Two new shades of the Dior Vernis were released with collection, Bluette and Lilac which retail for $27USD/$31CAD (I couldn’t find links online, so check your nearest Dior counter), and they are both SO pretty. I am a sucker for pastel polish and they are both just perfection. I have Lilac to share today and Bluette is on my wishlist for sure. I’m noticing a bit of a trend here with Dior calling these pink products lilac, but I’m okay with it because the color is gorgeous regardless!
I couldn’t help but save my most favorite release in this collection for last! This stunner is the Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powder, which retails for $58USD/$64CAD. It comes in Glowing Pink and Glowing Nude, and Glowing Nude is shown below. More floral imprinting on this baby, which is just so pretty, and oh my gosh can we talk about the glow it gives (see last swatch in the photo underneath the eyeshadow palette image)? It’s not powdery at all and goes on like a dream. I am going to be using this highlight SO much, I can already tell.
Not pictured, but also part of the Dior Spring 2016 Glowing Gardens Collection are the Diorshow Colour & Contour Eyeshadow and Eyeliner Duos which come in three shades (Iris, Twig and Orchid… can I have them all?) and the Diorblush Glowing Gardens Vibrant Colour Powder Blush in Floral Pink. These items currently aren’t online at Sephora, so check your nearest Dior counter! All of the products in this collection (except the lip liner) are limited edition, so make sure to grab anything you’re interested in right away to avoid non-buyer’s remorse, haha. If you’re only going to get one thing, I absolutely vote for the Illuminating Powder, I’m obsessed!
What’s your favorite product from the Dior Spring 2016 Glowing Gardens Collection?

Such a beautiful, inspiring collection! Though I know I’d never use the yellow, I can’t take my eyes off of that palette! And the pink polish. I need more pink
Chelsea says
So beautiful! Agreed on the yellow, it’s definitely a shade that I will use when I feel like playing around and being creative rather than as an everyday shadow. When the Lancome eyeliners were sent out a few months ago, Anastasia from Glamorable did an eye look with a pop of yellow on the lower lashline and it looked SO good, so I’m definitely going to try something similar! The pink polish is so pretty, too. I haven’t tried Dior polishes before so I’m excited!

Seriously, could these be any prettier?? I love the pale pinks.
Chelsea says
Right? I can’t get over the floral imprinting either…. so, so pretty!

That palette would totally be one of those ‘too pretty to use’ pieces. Frame it and put it on the wall!
Chelsea says
Haha it probably would be if I didn’t swatch it for this post! There are so many things I’m pretty sure I’d buy and just never touch if I didn’t have a blog to force me to swatch and post… I always hate taking the first dip into a new palette!

This collection is so pretty! I also love spring releases, it’s my favorite time of year for makeup. I’ve got SO much on my wish list already, my wallet is going to cry haha
Chelsea says
Haha yeah, I need to stop looking at other people’s blogs because everyone is enabling me! I just dropped way too much money on holiday stuff, I really don’t NEED anything new… but it’s all soooo hard to resist.

I’m so intrigued by the highlighter and the Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner sounds great, the original Lip Glow is still my favourite lip product :) xx

Love the lip colour and the highlighter! Yay for spring collections – so over winter!
Stacie says
Oh my gosh, what GORGEOUS makeup! I would just sit and look at it all day and not use it for fear of messing it up. Haha! Enjoy!
Katherine says
I think the packaging is absolutely amazing, but I’m not a huge fan of the colours. I know that the yellow and green will look like crap on my cooler complexion. But it would look amazing in my collection, no? ;)

Gorgeous pictures! I’m so feeling watercolor type pastel eyeshadows for Spring and this collection is perfect. I think the lip glow is the product that I’m most interested in as it seems like you’d get a ton of use out of it.
