The Dior Holiday 2016 Splendor Collection is absolutely GORGEOUS. I’m so excited that it’s the first truly holiday-esque collection I’m posting and that I actually got to style the photos with a holiday glam vibe because of that! This could also be my most favorite Dior collection that I’ve reviewed thus far- keep reading to see why!
There are five lipsticks in the Dior Holiday 2016 Splendor Collection. From the Diorific Mat Velvet Colour Lipstick line, I have Ravissement, a sweet pink. I find these to be quite hydrating and comfortable to wear, though I find they apply with more of a satin finish than a matte one (which is totally fine by me because matte lipsticks aren’t really my thing, as we all already know).
From the regular Diorific Lipstick line, the only one released for holiday 2016 is the shade Golden, a frosty, shimmery gold. While frosty and/or shimmery gold lipsticks are certainly not my thing, this one does make for a really good topper to add a little glam to an otherwise basic lip look!
How cute are these little baubles of Diorific Vernis nail polish?! They remind me of Christmas tree ornaments and are the prettiest holiday glam shades. Nova is a “broken mirror” topcoat that you can use on it’s own or over another polish (it kind of reminds me of snowflakes or silver confetti) and Cosmic is a very deep berry shade with super fine gold shimmer. Cosmic is definitely a shade I’ll wear often this time of year, and Nova is going to be fun for holiday nail looks!
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for… the eyeshadow! I find Dior eyeshadow palettes to be very hit or miss- sometimes they are nicely pigmented, sometimes they’re barely pigmented at all. One thing I can count on, however, is for them to be absolutely STUNNING. This one (in the shade Precious Embroidery), as you can tell, is definitely no exception to that. The threaded sequin detailing is just incredible. And better yet, this one performs well, too- based on other swatches I’ve seen, because I’m sorry but I literally cannot bring myself to swatch this. I just can’t. LOOK AT IT! There is also another holiday palette called Smoky Sequins, which has more black and grey shades- I definitely prefer Precious Embroidery to that one because of it’s gorgeous plum and neutral shades!
Is anything from the Dior Holiday 2016 Splendor Collection on your Christmas list?
