Are you one of those people who just can’t curl your hair? Whether that be because you just can’t work two hands AND hair at once, you can’t figure out the clamp or how to wrap your hair, you can’t use a hot hair tool without burning yourself or because you are just straight up too lazy to figure out how to curl your hair yourself, the Conair Curl Secret is FOR YOU. It’s a new, and super clever, product on the market. I honestly don’t know how this hasn’t been invented sooner! How the Curl Secret works is you hold it right up near your roots (or wherever you want the curl to start), drop an inch-sized section of hair in between the two plates and squeeze the plates shut for eight seconds. The Curl Secret draws your hair in and wraps it up in there somewhere (note that this DOES NOT tangle your hair or anything like that! It wraps your hair flawlessly) and beeps at you when it’s done making a curl, at which point you stop squeezing the plates shut and pull the Curl Secret away and you have a fantastic curl. A PERFECT curl. It’s really that easy. If that still sounds confusing, watch this 30 second vid for a visual!
Start with whatever your natural hair is. My mane is flat to my head and boringly straight… woohoo. Can you see why I love to have curly hair? There is just so much more body and volume when it’s all curly! You need to split up your hair now so it’s easier to manage. I usually just take the top half of my hair (draw an imaginary line from the top of your left ear to your right ear. Above your ears is the top half of your hair) and put it in a bun on top of my head, then start curling the bottom half of my hair first.
The Curl Secret is honestly foolproof. There is a specific side of it that needs to be facing your head and it’s clearly labelled. Make sure that side is always facing your head and you’ll have no troubles! I like to start my curls a couple of inches from my roots, but you can start yours wherever you prefer. That’s another thing I love about the Curl Secret- you could just curl the very ends to give your hair some body if you wanted, or you can go the full monty and curl everything!
Here we are with our cute top bun and half curled hair (ha). When you’ve finished curling all the hair on the bottom half of your head, undo your bun and drop down the top layer. Keep curling until all of your hair is done. Fluff your curls around when you’re finished to see if any straight pieces stick out, and make sure you get those too!
Hello, full head of lovely curls. Now here is the beauty of curling your hair. Unlike straightening your hair, which often requires you to totally straighten your hair again the next day if you even get a bit of a kink in it, curling can last until your next shower. You can have two or even THREE days of curly hair in different styles! On day one, rock your freshly curled hair by flipping your head over and giving it a shake to loosen up your curls and give your hair volume. Let them be wild and free!
On day two, while you still have some volume in your hair and your curls are still holding decently well, throw on a cute headband and pull your bangs back.
On day three, when your hair is getting pretty “shower me now, please”, spray some dry shampoo at your parts roots and the crown of your head, rub it in and then throw what’s left of your curls in a side pony. Leave a couple curly pieces out (feel free to touch those curls up as it’ll only take a minute or two and will make your style look fresh) to frame your face.

I hope I’ve given you enough reasons to try out the Conair Curl Secret for yourself. It would make a fantastic Christmas gift to a daughter (you can’t burn yourself- heck yes!!), sister, friend, mother or even for yourself ;) Be sure to check out Walmart if you’re looking to purchase as well, because they’re selling it for $99 instead of the $150 it’s listed as on curlsecret.com. That’s a $50 savings!! Also, check out Conair’s Pinterest boards for hairstyle ideas and Curl Secret before/afters. I hope you found this tutorial helpful!
