I’m a big fan of low-cut Converse shoes, however I’m super picky about how I wear them because I haaaate when they make my feet look big (I’m weird like that). My number one thing that I do that somehow avoids the long-looking feet situation is to show a little ankle. So I’ll wear Converse shoes with shorts, cropped jeans, leggings, or I’ll cuff my jeans. I love cuffing jeans- I feel like it’s a totally new thing to me. I just noticed people doing it this summer and it’s definitely a trend I’ve jumped on. Because I’m only 5’4″, jeans pretty much never are the right length for me. “Petite” jeans are a bit awkwardly short and regular length jeans are always bunchy at my ankles. Enter my new cuffing jeans tactic!
These jeans are SO comfortable, I have no problem cozying up in them all day long around the house. The only problem I found was that they were too long for me- so voila. I cuffed them. I love the rich, dark wash of them and the looser boyfriend fit. I really don’t own any jeans similar, and I love these!
One tip for wearing boyfriend jeans that I have is to wear a semi-fitted top to balance everything out. While my top isn’t skin tight by any means, it’s got shape and fits close to my body which keeps me from looking like a blob :)

I totally agree, low tops totally make people’s feet look big sometimes! I hate it! This is a great outfit!
Chelsea says
Thanks Chloe! Glad someone agrees ;)

I have the same problem with jeans, I’m only 5’2″! I’ll definitely have to try cuffing my jeans. I’ve never had the problem with my feet looking big though since I wear 6.5 haha. :)
Chelsea says
Haha, I’m a 7.5 so just a little bit bigger than you so I be careful with the long feet thing ;) Cuff away my friend! It’s the new cool thing to do.. hahaha.

Great tips! I love “chucks” as well but also feel like they make my feet look huge, so I will have to show a little ankle as well.
Chelsea says
Yup, give it a try!
Jenn @TheRebelChick says
I have the same problem you do with jeans, so I became very handy with a sewing machine! LOL!
Chelsea says
Haha, I should probably learn that skill too ;)

Thankyou Amy!

Love the style – especially in the summertime! YOu’re darling!

Thanks Kim :)

I have a pair of kids jeans that are just a hair too short, so I cuff them and pretend they were meant to be short. It’s definitely a practical strategy that ends up looking pretty cute!
Chelsea says
Oh that is awesome!! Good call!
Freda Mans says
OMG you look fab!
And your feet do not look big at all.
Try stuffing my size 10 bad boys into white shoes…. yeah I am a fan of black shoes. They make my feet look smaller. :-)
Chelsea says
Hhaah ohhh no! At least you’ve figured out how to work it :)
Estelle says
You look adorable; I can’t wait shorter or cuffed pants for some reason but they look great on you, and your feet don’t look big at all to me.
Chelsea says
Aw really? Thankyou!
Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? says
I’m 5’5″ and have the same jeans issues. Petite or short are too short and regular are too long. I often cuff my jeans if I’m not wearing boots or bulky shoes.
You look very cute.
Chelsea says
Thanks Krystyn!
Melissa says
They look great! I just started cuffing my jeans a bit.
Chelsea says
It’s nice to have another tactic to throw in when getting dressed to make things look different :)
Dawn Lopez says
How adorable, I love this whole look. Cuffed jeans look super cute!
Chelsea says
Thanks Dawn!
Healy says
I like that idea cuffing jeans plus it really look so cool and stylish. I do that sometimes. :)
Chelsea says
It sure does! Thanks for stopping by Healy :)
Debi says
What a cute outfit. I never thought to do jeans like that, but I have the same issue because I am only 5’3
Chelsea says
Give it a try!
Chrishelle says
That is a great casual look. I am 5’9″ so I have never cuffed my jeans, makes me look too tall. That look is fabulous on you. I will have to try the cuff trick with my girls, they are both short.
Chelsea says
Thanks Chrishelle! Hope it works out for your girls :)
Kelly says
I have never cuffed my jeans but they look great on you!

Love your style! That top is really pretty. I never thought of cuffing my jeans wearing Converse, but that looks great, will try sometimes. :)
Chelsea says
Aw thankyou Em :)

Great tip on wearing a fitted shirt with boyfriend jeans. I tried a pair on this summer and although I am shapely I just felt like a sloppy blob.
Chelsea says
Yeah, it was suuuuuper tough for me to find a pair that fit the way I was envisioning them to. I’m still on the hunt for a light colored pair that fits just right!
