If you have read my blog for any length of time (aka like, one post required), then you know I am entirely comfort-oriented when it comes to getting dressed every morning. It is also no secret that fall is my absolute favorite time of year when it comes to fashion (amongst other things- hello… hot drinks, cozy nights and pumpkin patches anyone?). Layering on sweaters and scarves and getting to wear sweatpants that are considered socially acceptable as out-of-the-house pants (see the ones in this post, they’re seriously AMAZING) is something to get excited about, if you ask me.
Along with fall fashion and all it’s coziness and comfort comes the footwear. I get to put away my sandals and wedges (woohoooo!) and wear flats and boots which are obviously the most comfortable shoes around. While boots are generally my fall/winter go-to, there are most definitely many occasions in which boots are just too clunky for an outfit. That’s when I reach for a cute pair of neutral colored flats and Payless definitely carries the most comfy pairs around. They have two separate comfort lines (Dexflex Comfort and Comfort Plus) that both have lots of pairs of shoes that have made their way to my wishlist (such as these leopard print heels… uh, yes please!).
The Dexflex Claire scrunch flats that I paired with these super pretty sweatpants (I truly never thought I’d ever in my life call sweatpants pretty until these came along) are SO comfortable. They have a perfectly cushiony padding throughout the bottom that puts every other pair of flats in my closet to shame. The elastic trim around the top edges is also a huge plus for long wear, as that is essential for avoiding blisters. I was honestly under the impression that comfort lines would be targeted towards an older crowd style-wise, but was I ever wrong! Payless has absolutely nailed it with these two lines.
Clothing-wise, I am ALL over LuLu*s’ fall pieces already. I am all about jewel-toned colors (especially burgundy/wine which is always a favorite of mine) and not-so-obnoxious versions of floral and plaid prints. They have so many pieces that fit the bill, including this easily dressed up or down flowy burgundy top and the I-Can’t-Believe-These-Are-Sweatpants pants that I’m wearing in this post. I need more of these pants in my life, and I would definitely say the same about this top if I didn’t already own it in two other colors ;)
Have you ever tried shoes from Payless‘ comfort lines?
