I don’t know if there’s a more adorable lip product than the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primers. They’re small, but they pack a huge color punch. I hate that I’ve been so busy the past two months that I pretty much completely forgot these existed, because I’m in love!
The Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colours come in ten different shades:
- Sugar Pop (a neutral blush)
- Nude Pop (a neutral blushed nude)
- Go-go Pop (a vibrant fuchsia pink)
- Wink Pop (a light pink violet)
- Sweetie Pop (a bright pink)
- Happy Pop (a bright orangey coral)
- Lava Pop (a blue red)
- Cocoa Pop (a medium pink nude with a hint of pearl)
- Love Pop (a purple berry with a hint of pearl)
- Peace Pop (a deep violet)
I have five different shades swatched, plus an extra swatch of a Clinique Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow. I was applying these assuming they were all the Pop Lacquers, and when I got to the Pop Oil, I was so confused as to why the formula was so different for that specific color, until I looked at the sticker on the bottom and realized it was a totally different product, haha. Anyways, the Pop Oil is nice as well! It does bleed a bit (you can see this in the swatch), but that could also be due to me applying too much before I realized it wasn’t the same product and formula.
Top: Wink Pop, Sweetie Pop
Middle: Poppy Glow (the Pop Oil), Happy Pop
Bottom: Love Pop, Peace Pop
I really like the applicator on these. It’s not quite a doe-foot shape, but very close. I find it very easy to get a precise, clean lip line with these, even though I have fairly troublesome lips to get a clean edge on.
The Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primers have- you guessed it- a built in primer, and it’s supposed to help these last for up to six hours. I’ll be honest, I’ve never had a lip product last near that long on me… I eat and drink way too much, haha. My expectations are really not high when it comes to long-lasting lip products, so I’m a terrible judge of that. I can say, though, that these are really comfortable to wear- not too sticky at all, and they have no noticeable scent.
The Clinique Pop Lacquers retail for $18.50 each at ULTA and are definitely something I now want to complete my collection of!
Have you bought any of these yet?

I have a similar Julep product that I love, but it doesn’t last long at all. I’ll have to pick one of these up to see if it is any better.
Chelsea says
I have yet to try much from Julep’s makeup line, though I LOVE their polish and cleansing oil. I did just order some blush sticks from them, so I have high hopes! As for these, they wear quite well on me. Though, as I mentioned in the post, I personally never expect a lip product to last very long if I’m eating or drinking… so I don’t have that high of standards for a lip product to live up to, haha.

Love the look of these! I think my favourite is Poppy Glow. I think it’s the perfect Summer colour. Sophie x

Haha, that was the one I accidentally included thinking it was a Pop Lacquer when really it was a Pop Oil! Either way, love it. I definitely need more of the Pop Oils now :)

I was not expecting to like the colors on, but these look great! The perfect pop of color without being too overbearing. I definitely want to give these a try for myself. Great review.
Chelsea says
I love comments like this, because it means the effort of an actual on the lip swatch as opposed to just on my arm was totally worth it. These are definitely beautiful on! Highly recommend :) Thanks Jules! xo

I love the pop lipsticks so I’m sure I’d love these as well! They look super pigmented x

I don’t have any of the Pop lipsticks but really want some! I have a few matte Clinique lipsticks from a holiday set that are amazing though :) These are definitely super pigmented- they’re gorgeous!!

I tired the original Clinique pop lipsticks, and I wasn’t the biggest fan. But these ones look so much more comfortable and summery. Very pretty!

Aw that’s too bad! I haven’t tried those ones, just other matte lipsticks from a holida collection. These are soooo nice to wear!

I have been using Clinique for years but their products are just too expensive. Its a little overkill on products that claim to do the same thing – think if they come up with something new and better, then they should fade out the old.
I now use the Somaluxe Lip Rescue to avoid lip wrinkles – and it makes my lip stock / gloss just look so much better. And its half the price.
