The launch of Charlotte Tilbury products in Canada has been looooong, long awaited. Today is actually the first day that Charlotte Tilbury will be available- at Holts on Bloor in Toronto (at which there will be a public meet & greet with Charlotte (SO jealous over here!) on June 24th from 6-8 pm), and a location will soon follow in Vancouver (YAY!). Seriously, so much love for this brand. A bunch of the products from this specific look have already become daily go-tos for me, simply because they perform SO well.
One of my favorite things about the whole Charlotte Tilbury line is that Charlotte has created an effortless wardrobe of ten different looks that completely take the work out of figuring out what you’re going to do with your makeup on any given day. With the help of these gorgeous signature looks, all I have to do is ask myself, “who do I want to be today?”
Today, I wanted to be The Uptown Girl. This look is described as “groomed, glossy, gorgeous perfection.” This definitely sounded like something that was up my alley makeup-wise, and the how-to video for this look was so easy to follow. I won’t bother listing off every step, because Charlotte does a perfectly good job of it in her how-to video, but I do want to touch on the products used in this look a bit!
The Uptown Girl look includes:
Cheek to Chic blush (in Love Glow) – this blush gives the most perfect natural flush. It honestly just makes my skin looks like it has a radiating glow to it. It has darker colored ring of blush around the edge of the compact, and then a lighter color in the center to add a bit of a “pop”.
The Classic eyeliner powder pencil (in Audrey) – I’ve been using this pencil daily. I’ve really been into the lots of lashes and no liner look lately, so this pencil is perfect for that. It’s a powder pencil, which was little hard for me to wrap my head around the concept of, and it is so perfect for feathering through your upper lashline because it’s not dry like pencils often are, but it’s also not too creamy like a gel pencil can be. It’s honestly hard to describe, you just have to try it yourself, haha. It’s definitely a new fave for me!
Luxury Palette eyeshadow (in The Uptown Girl) – this is suuuuch a pretty palette, and surprisingly versatile considering it only has four shades! The shadows are super pigmented and blend beautifully. The bottom left shadow in the palette is STUNNING. It’s the “pop” color and it’s easily my favorite in this palette because it takes any look up a notch.
Full Fat Lashes mascara (in Glossy Black) – this mascara makes me look like I’m wearing false lashes! I had to do a few coats when I was applying it, because I like quite voluminous, long lashes, and when I was done my lashes looked amazing (as you can see in the pictures below- so long looking!). I had zero issues with clumping, this was actually great at separating my lashes in addition to adding the length.
Lip Cheat liner (in Pink Venus) – I rarely wear lip liner, but I did find this one super easy to apply and it definitely helped keep my lipstick on lockdown.
K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipstick (in Bitch Perfect) – I love this color on my skintone! It’s a nude, but with the liner underneath it had a bit of a peachy/coral color to it. It was the perfect amount of color to pair with the eye look.
Lip Lustre lipgloss (in Sweet Stiletto) – This gloss is a super pretty color and is not sticky at all. It looks great with the lipstick and on it’s own as well.
Okay, onto the day and night looks! The day version of The Uptown Girl look features all the products I mentioned above, with the exception of the lipgloss. I love this look SO much, I feel like I look like I’m just glowing! The eye look was especially easy to follow and I feel like it brightened my whole face up.
The major differences between the day and night look are the addition of the lipgloss and more depth and smokiness added to the eye look. I don’t normally do eye looks with such bold pops of a dark color, but I wanted to follow Charlotte’s video tutorial as closely as possible and actually ended up loving the final look with the dark crease!
I am definitely trying to venture more outside my comfort zone with makeup- most especially with eye looks- and Charlotte Tilbury’s wardrobe of makeup looks is such a great way to do that. Next on my list is being The Sophisticate for a day! Or, maybe The Golden Goddess? They’re all stunning!
