There is just something about Chanel products that I absolutely love… maybe it’s the fact that I feel like a million bucks every time I pull something out to use it. They’re so luxurious and gorgeous, I just can’t get enough! The Chanel summer 2016 collection, Chanel Dans La Lumière De L’Été, is full of must-have “shimmering desert oasis” goodness, and there’s a lot to cover- so let’s just get right into it all!
We’ll change things up and start with the best of the best this time, since I usually save the best for last. The Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow palette in Empreinte du Désert (limited edition) is absolutely beautiful. Unlike the last Chanel eyeshadow palette I reviewed which was much more sheer and shimmery, this palette is so buttery and pigmented. I love the neutral shade selection with a pop of green- it makes for a really great everyday palette!
A product I’m probably loving just as much as the eyeshadow palette is the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder in Duo no.2. It’s half blush, half highlight and 100% gorgeous. This duo gives such a beautiful flush to the cheeks and the highlight is so pretty on my fair skin. This comes in another color option as well, which is half bronzer, half peachy blush. Pretty sure I need that one in my life too!
There are six limited edition shades of the Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Aqua Glossimer in the summer collection, and with the exception of one, they are all coral/pink/red shades which is so up my alley. I have Sahara, which is a orangey-peachy-pink with a little bit of shimmer to it. On my wishlist is Sirocco, which is more of a vibrant orange. This gloss is non-sticky and super comfortable to wear!
Two limited edition shades of the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof liner were released with this summer 2016 collection: Sable (a bronze) and Oasis (a forest green). They both have an almost metallic-like finish to them and they do. not. budge. on me. I love these liners!
Mirage, a limited edition brown shade of the Chanel Le Volume Waterproof Mascara, was also released with this collection. Normally, this mascara comes in Black and Brun, and while I don’t have Brun to compare, it seems like Mirage and Brun are quite similar. Regardless, it’s a nice mascara and definitely a keeper for me as I’m severely lacking in the waterproof mascara department!
From left: Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Oasis, Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Aqua Glossimer in Sahara, Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow palette in Empreinte du Désert (all four shades in the palette), and the highlight and blush shade from the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder in Duo no.2.
There are five shades of the Chanel Le Vernis in this collection, and I have three: Émeraude (an emerald green), Canotier (a gold) and Espadrilles (a bright orange-red). I find the emerald green, while stunning, to be more of a fall/winter shade, but the gold and orange-red are perfect summer shades. None of these polishes are limited edition, but it definitely doesn’t mean you shouldn’t run out and grab one or two for summer! These have also been recently reformulated, and while I haven’t tried the previous formula, I hear this version of the Le Vernis is a great improvement.
Is anything from the Chanel summer 2016 collection catching your eye?
