Let’s be real for a sec here… can BECCA Cosmetics do any wrong? I really don’t think so. I have yet to try anything from them that I’ve not absolutely loved, and I’ve tried a lot of their products. Their Shimmering Skin Perfectors are my hands down holy grail ride or freakin’ die highlighters, their Backlight Priming Filter gives a lit-from-within glow like nothing else and their Backlight Targeted Color Correctors get the job done when put to tackling my dark circles and redness. So, with my love of all things BECCA, it was pretty much inevitable that I’d eventually try and fall in love with the Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation.
It comes in a beautiful frosted glass bottle and has a dropper, which is something that I can decide if I like yet or not. Initially, I was so not into the dropper, but the more I use it and get used to it, the more I don’t mind it. I like that with a dropper you have a bit more control with how much product you’re getting, whereas I tend to waste a bit when I use a pump. I *think* I’m coming around to the dropper, haha.
The BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation retails for $44 and comes in 9 shades, from Porcelain to Deep Bronze. When I first swatched the two shades I have, I thought there was no way I was going to match either of them. When blended out, however, Fair is a perfect match (note that these swatches are on the underside of my forearm which is suuuper white, my face is a tiny bit darker) and Light is going to be perfect when I have a little bit of color in the summer.
The formula is everything you’d imagine from BECCA- all. the. glow. I absolutely love the luminosity it gives (and on that note, I don’t think I’d recommend this for oily skin as it does have a very dewy finish). I have dry skin, and this lasts all day on me and doesn’t cling to any dry areas of my face. It also doesn’t settle grossly into the fine lines in my forehead, which is a huge plus for me. As for coverage, it starts off light when applied with a damp Beauty Blender, and you can easily build to a more medium coverage.
I am going to be using this beautiful, glowy foundation a ton in the coming summer months. I already can’t stop myself from reaching for it!

this foundation sounds super lovely, it would also be great during the winter when everything is a little dry and dull!
Chelsea says
For sure! In fact, my skin is dry and dull year round, hahahah.

I tired a sample of this product not too long ago and it didn’t sit well on me. Maybe it is because I have combination skin! Really glad you liked it though. I still don’t know if I am a fan of the dropper!
Chelsea says
Oh no! Yeah, I can understand if you’ve got some oiliness going on that it wouldn’t be the best just because of how dewy it is. I’m definitely getting used to the dropper- a couple different foundations I’m using right now have it, so I have no choice hahaha.

I think this would be perfect for me but I’m not sure how I feel about the dropper! I suppose I would get used to it, a lot of foundations seem to be having the dropper lately haha great review!

Yeah, there must be a reason as to why they’re all coming out with droppers now.. maybe it is because there’s less waste? I’m not sure! I’m getting more and more used to it and am not minding it now, but at first it was a bit of a frustrating change from a pump. I think I should just be grateful that it’s not one with no dispenser at all, I can’t stand having to dump foundation straight onto my hand from the bottle like lots of drugstore foundations still do!

Those bottles are stunning! I’ve never used a dropper application process but sounds interesting! Thanks for sharing! <3

I really didn’t like it at first, but I’m definitely getting used to it and don’t mind it at all now!

This foundation sounds really lovely! I think it would take me a while to adjust to the dropper as well, but like you said, it’ll probably save you product in the long run!
I also really want to try the Shimmer Skin Perfecter – always love a good highlighter!!
Chelsea says
Oh my gosh, if you haven’t tried the Shimmering Skin Perfectors yet you seriously NEED to. Without a doubt, they are the absolute best highlighters in my opinion. So finely milled, so beautiful, oh my goooooooooosh- I can’t get enough. ;)

The product looks pretty enough but I am not sure if the dropper is a great idea too…does this works well for combination skin? Great photos and reviews!
Chelsea says
Honestly, you get used to it pretty quick! I am coming to like it because I have better control over how much product I’m dispensing. I am not too sure about combo skin- it is quite a dewy finish, so if you are particularly oily in spots, it may not work so well.

Thanks for sharing about this products, i have never tried Becca products, but they are definitely on my lust wishlist xoxo

They should be at the top of that wishlist, haha. So good!

Oooo this foundation looks pretty fab! I must give it a try!

I love the idea of the dropper! I also feel like a pump can be wasteful; one pump is never enough for me, but two pumps is too much. I’ve actually never tried anything from Becca but I really want to! Everything gets glowing (pun intended) reviews!

Ahh it sounds so nice!! A bit disappointing there are only nine shades, hopefully they’ll expand that!
