While this post was sponsored by bareMinerals, all thoughts, opinions and experiences are entirely my own.
How has bareMinerals escaped my grasp for so long? Before receiving these products for review, I think I owned maybe one or two glosses and a powder. Let me tell you, though- after this, bareMinerals is officially part of my everyday wear brands. In fact, I don’t know if I’ll ever live without this powder foundation again (says the girl who has avoided powder foundation for years because she thought it wouldn’t work with her dry skin…)! Let me elaborate.
So, first off, bareMinerals recently released their new barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation. Like I said, I’ve avoided powder foundations for years because I assumed dry skin + powder foundation just wouldn’t mix well. I was so, so wrong. This foundation isn’t chalky or dry at all and blends into my skin SO seamlessly that it actually amazes me. Even in the center of my forehead where I get most dry (and where many liquid foundations will look a little flaky on me), it doesn’t cling and look dusty or cakey. It’s an actual miracle powder foundation, guys (and it’s another miracle that it’s only $30!!!).
It’s a 12-hour wear foundation that is formulated with 90% vitamins and minerals (which is a huge plus for me, considering I’ve been on my get-rid-of-bad-for-me-products binge lately) and comes in quite an extensive 30-shade range (Dawn 02 is a perfect match for my skin). While I haven’t worn it for a full twelve hours, I did wear it for a night out dancing recently- probably at least six hours of wear, but six hours of dancing (and obvs getting a little sweaty, haha) and it was still flawless when I got home. That, my friends, is a HUGE win. The coverage is also insanely impressive, in my opinion. I’ll let the pictures below do the talking!
A quick touch on the bareMinerals barePRO Core Coverage Brush ($30)- this brush is sold separately and created specifically for this foundation. While you may think it’s gimmicky, I honestly think this brush works amazing with this foundation. It blends out the foundation beautifully, it’s quite dense so you can get good coverage without the powder just fluffing away everywhere or getting lost in the brush, and tucks away easily for travel or for stashing in your bag. With that being said, if you do own a super dense flat top brush already, you can probably get away with using that. I do really like this one and recommend it for use with this foundation for best results though!
Onto the lip products! Again, how did these escape my greedy little beauty loving paws for so long? The bareMinerals Gen Nude line is just everything I need in life. It consists of the bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor ($18), bareMinerals Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick ($20), bareMinerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss ($18) and bareMinerals Gen Nude Under Over Lip Liner ($16). There are over 60 shades in this line, with something to suit everyone’s preference and skin tone.
The lipsticks are oh so creamy and comfortable to wear, the glosses are non-sticky and so beautiful (they’re my fave!), the matte liquid lips don’t make my lips look and feel dry and gross, and the liners pair perfectly with any color from this line.
Okay, so I apologize in advance for baring my breakouts, but I want you to see how well the bareMinerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation works! I have this big zit party happening on my chin right now, which is super unusual for my skin as I generally don’t get breakouts- I guess my skin just wanted to be able to show you how this well foundation covers, haha.
GUYS. I didn’t use ANY concealer on the nose zit or chin zits. None whatsoever. No corrector, no concealer, no nothing- JUST the foundation. And this is without having to build it up at all, just one swish around of the foundation like I did on each section of my face. How crazy is that coverage?! SO GOOD, I can’t even believe it. One other important thing to note is that when I’ve tried using concealer or liquid foundation to cover up this stupid breakout on other days, it would look peely and cakey because my skin is obviously trying to heal and get rid of the blemishes, so it’s not all smooth. This powder foundation is the only product I’ve been able to use over this breakout to get coverage without it looking all dry and peely.
Seriously, I can’t say enough good about this foundation. When I posted on Instagram that I was giving this a trial run, a few people told me they LOVE this powder foundation, and I can definitely understand why!
PS – I’m wearing the bareMinerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss in the shade Tantalize (a honeyed almond) below. I had to reapply it a few times throughout the night, but I was also drinking and eating basically all night too, haha. I love how smooth and plump this gloss makes my lips look!
So there you have it! If you couldn’t tell, I’m in absolute LOVE with bareMinerals from here on out. And, dare I say it… bareMinerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation may just be my new most favorite foundation!

Wow! This sounds fantastic. I’ve been afraid to try powder foundations forever too… just because I have no idea how it would work on dry skin. This has surprisingly great coverage!

OMG I forgot how much I loved my bareMinerals foundation back in the day. But then I get distracted by other brands I forget about it. That, or my skin starts getting bored with a particular product and then I have to try it again.
I want to go out to the store and buy this right NOW. Thanks, Chelsea. hahah

I’ve been a fan of BM for many years. I’d like to try this new pressed foundation powder. I still regularly use their loose mineral foundation and I also use their new liquid foundation. I just recently bought a BM kit from QVC that included a GenNude lipgloss. I am totally in love with this formula! It’s matte but doesn’t make your lips dry. It applies effortlessly and doesn’t “bleed”.I have never been much of a lipstick fan and I definitely do not like matte lip products. But THIS one is unbelievably gorgeous. I plan to buy several different shades. I love how Tantalize looks on you. I plan to buy that color!

I definitely need to check the powder foundation out! I’ve only tried one powder foundation & it was a nightmare! I have a similar problem to you with dry skin & the powder I tried just highlighted the dry patches. It’s great to know that BareMinerals have an option suitable for those of us with dry skin! I’m lucky that I don’t need much coverage, so currently get away with using my MAC MSF Natural with a dense brush on minimal makeup days.
