It was my birthday at the beginning of May, and it just so happened that the big Sephora sale was happening around the same time. I mean, I HAD to shop it… it was my birthday! And a sale! Haha, for real though. It was the one time I could actually justify dropping money on makeup that I’d had on my wishlist for quite a while without getting a side eye from my boyfriend for adding more to my already extensive makeup collection. Happy birthday me! So between that sale and a few PR samples I had received to try out over the last month or two, I ended up with quite a few April favorites.
I’ve been looking for a powder to set my undereye concealer and my foundation when I use something that is a bit more dewy, and I’m in in love with this. It blends beautifully into my skin and doesn’t just sit on top looking powdery. It also helps to lock my concealer down.
I was a total newbie to setting sprays up until recently, and now I feel like I can’t go without using one! I have been liking Mist & Fix a lot because it’s super light on the skin and keeps everything in place all day long. I find that a couple spritzes of this after applying my setting powder really helps to set everything and keep my makeup from looking powdery or cakey.
3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (in taupe)
How has it taken me this long to get this? It absolutely lives up to all of the amazing reviews I’ve seen on it! It’s the perfect color for my brows and is so easy to apply and keep looking natural. I love love looooooove this.
4. Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo (in tangerine/lingonberry)
I’ve heard amazing things about Bite Beauty for the longest time, but hadn’t tried anything except a lipgloss I got in a subscription box (which I really liked). I’ve been especially interested in trying their lipsticks, so when I saw this gorgeous color combo of a dual ended lipstick for only $12, I NEEDED it. I’m so happy with this purchase!
It honestly amazes me that I have found two mascaras I like even more than my previous all-time favorite mascara (Benefit They’re Real, which I do still love as well). I thought that was the be all end all of mascara, and at the time it was significantly better than any mascara I’d ever tried (and I’d tried a LOT). Since then, I’ve fallen in love with Too Faced Better Than Sex AND Benefit Roller Lash. Roller Lash has actually become my everyday mascara, and Better Than Sex has been pushed to the backburner for nights out when I want really voluminous lashes. Roller Lash gives me the separation and length that I want for everyday wear, and it’s just amazing. You need to try this mascara if you haven’t yet!
This primer is amazing. MUFE released a line of primers that covers basically every skin type/issue (there are ten primers to choose from) and I’ve heard nothing but good things about all the different primers. I have the smoothing one and it makes my makeup go on so evenly. I was always kinda “meh” about primers until I tried this one, and now I use it every time I wear foundation. I want to try the hydrating one next!
I have heard endless amounts of praise for the GLAMGLOW face masks and I’ve been dying to try them myself. They’re super expensive though, so I had my fingers crossed for a long time that I’d get one of the samples that had been floating around in subscription boxes I got monthly. I never ended up getting one, so I bit the bullet and bought myself one of the smaller sizes of THIRSTYMUD and ohhhh my gosh. This stuff. My skin had been feeling super dry and the instructions online said that I could leave it on overnight, so I did that and woke up with the most amazing feeling skin. SO good. It was $19 for the smaller size and I think I’ll probably end up investing in the bigger sized one at some point.. maybe a Christmas present to myself haha. I just ordered the YOUTHMUD TINGLEXFOLIATE Treatment in a big size because I had a $50 off coupon, so it only cost me $19. I’m excited to try that one too!
I don’t want to get into too much detail with this because I’m planning to do a full review, but it’s a must purchase. My lips are so smooth and soft right now!
This was a little sample sized item that I added to my bag right before I made my Sephora purchase, probably so I’d hit the free shipping amount, haha. I don’t see this size on the site anymore, but the full size is available. This is a great bronzer for my skin tone. It looks super natural and gives me a nice glow!
On top of there being the sale at Sephora, I made sure to take advantage of getting some cash back by using Shop At Home. Shop At Home provides cash back and/or coupons for purchases online at tons of different stores, and on top of that, your purchases earn you reward points that you can redeem for gift cards. Simply go here to sign up, and then click through each of the product links and select “activate deal” to see what amount of cash back or coupons/discounts are available for that store and product. It’s pretty awesome, because who doesn’t like saving money?
