Back in March, I was treated to the most amazing facial at Absolute Spa on Burrard in Vancouver. I’ve only had a few facials in my life, but this was by far the best I’d ever had. So good, in fact, that I literally had to force myself to stay awake (I was supposed to be reviewing it, after all, haha).
The spa itself was gorgeous with such a relaxing ambiance, and Sally (the woman who did my facial for me) was obviously great at her job! I filled out a little questionnaire at the beginning of my facial so that Sally could determine which products would be best suited for my needs. Needless to say, my skin felt amazing and SO hydrated at the end of my appointment! She was also kind enough to send me home with a few Aromatherapy Associates products (the brand she was using for my facial) so I could give them a try myself.
The Aromatherapy Associates Polishing Essential Enzyme Peel is a chemical exfoliant (as opposed to physical, like a scrub) that uses fruit acids to help slough off dead skin and leave you with fresh, glowing skin. I use this once weekly and it makes a huge difference in my skin texture.
Being that I have dry skin, I’m a huge fan of face oils. I apply one every single night before bed and I feel like they give my skin so much extra hydration. The Aromatherapy Associates Nourishing Face Oil contains all sorts of essential oils and plant extracts that help to soften dry skin as well as promote circulation in your skin to keep it looking healthy. This oil is quite light and absorbs fairly quickly in comparison to a couple other face oils I’ve used in the past, and it smells amazing like the essential oil blend that it is.
The Aromatherapy Associates Support Breathe Bath and Shower Oil is an actual godsend when you’re getting sick or need a little pep in your step. It’s an invigorating mix of eucalyptus, pine, tea tree and peppermint that makes for a great morning shower wake up call, as well as helps to clear your chest and help you breathe better when you’ve got a cold. You can add a capful to your bath or use a little bit on your body in the shower- either way, you’ll come out feeling a million times better.
If you’re in the Vancouver area, I can’t recommend treating yourself or someone you love to a facial at Absolute Spa enough! The products are absolutely amazing and you will leave feeling incredibly relaxed and well-rested (half because the facial is so nice and half because it’s so nice that you’ll probably fall asleep, haha).
