Aaaaand we’re back with another 7 piece remix! A “7 piece remix” is where I choose seven pieces of clothing and create multiple outfits out of those seven pieces, in case you weren’t totally sure. This remix features pieces that are all about comfort while still looking like you tried when you picked out your clothes in the morning!
The seven pieces I went for in this remix (some c/o Belles & Whistles):
– the comfiest jeggings in the world (in red, because red is fun!)
– a plain ol’ black blazer– you can never go wrong with having one in your wardrobe
– a plaid button down. These are just the epitome of comfort!
– a dressy top. I picked this polka dotted peplum top because the pattern is fun and the material is just like a t-shirt, so I’ll never be uncomfortable in it. Here’s a similar one, or here’s another really cute option.
– a casual-but-dressy black top with lace trim (c/o 6ks)
In the first outfit, I paired my polka dotted peplum top with red jeggings for a dressy but easy and casual look. I added these studded tartan flats because they are a fun way to mix and match color and pattern without being too crazy.
The second outfit features the same red jeggings as the above outfit, paired with the simple black top and blinged up a bit with studded flats, a gold watch and this gorgeous necklace (c/o Obviously Chic) for another pop of color. The blazer steps it up a bit and makes this outfit work-friendly for some offices!
This is a perfect running errands/hanging out/shopping all day outfit. It’s super comfortable and of course, super cute. We all already know how much I love these jeans, too. I added some gold touches to take it from thrown together to “thrown together” (haha) with the watch, bracelet and H&M bag.
Another outfit fit for the same day as above. This is for the days where you need to get out of the house quick in the morning. The bold shirt keeps things interesting so you don’t need to worry about accessories!
This last outfit is my personal fave. Who knew date night wear could be so comfortable? I threw my black blazer over the polka dotted peplum and kept this outfit from becoming TOO dressy by keeping it simple with the distressed jeans. Add a pair of blush colored flats, a black foldover clutch and a long necklace and you’re good to go! Oh, and let’s not forget the pink lipstick. In these pictures, I’m wearing NYX lipstick (my fave for trying new colors!) in Hot Pink.
I hope this remix inspires you to dig through your closet and try something new! Don’t be afraid to mix colors, patterns, and shapes. The key to making things work is BALANCE! Wear skinny jeans with a flowy top, mix patterns that have the same colors in them, and so on. Take inspiration for outfits from blogs, Pinterest, people on the street… and then get into your own closet and find similar pieces and make that outfit yourself! If you feel you’re missing any staples or pieces similar to what I have shown above, check out Belles & Whistles to fill those spaces in your closet. There are so many gorgeous, flattering pieces that I would love to add to my own wardrobe in a second!
