Burt’s Bees® was one of the first ever beauty brands that I made a purchase from (waaaaay back in the early days where buying a Burt’s Bees® lip balm was a big deal for a 12 year old who used pretty much no beauty products ever), and EcoTools® was the first brush brand I ever made a purchase from, so it’s pretty coincidental that they have come together in this 5 minute makeup post!
I remember my first EcoTools® purchase quite clearly, actually. It was right after Christmas and I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket, so I went to Walmart. I had just started becoming interested in makeup beyond the basic mascara and eyeliner (you know, back in the early teenage days where you wore eyeliner only on the lower waterline and none on the top? Yeah, it was those days, haha), and I knew I wanted to buy a blush, so of course I had to find a brush to go with it. I knew absolutely nothing about any brushes, so I went with the fluffiest and softest brush I could find, and lo and behold it was an EcoTools® blush brush. So, pretty much since day one that my interest in makeup really began, I have been using EcoTools® brushes!
On the Burt’s Bees® front, can we just talk about how happy I am that they’re adding all these makeup products to their already amazing line of body products?! Basically as soon as Burt’s Bees® releases anything new, I am all over it, so of course I wasn’t going to miss out on trying this BB Cream (with SPF 15! Yaaaas for sun protection!). It has pretty good coverage for a BB cream- enough to even out my skintone and cover up most of the redness I get on my nose and cheeks, but not enough to make a dent in the darkness of my under eye circles. I never go without concealer though, so that was fine by me! It’s super comfortable to wear and still looked good after four hours of being out running errands. It comes in three different shades, and I wear shade Light.
As far as EcoTools® brushes go, this EcoTools® Skin Perfecting Blending Brush is the star of the show, in my opinion. It’s so soft and blends out the Burt’s Bees® BB Cream fabulously. I had no streaks and didn’t even have to go back in to finish up with my Beauty Blender like I usually do with other brushes! Also, how cute is the blue pattern detailing on it?
The new Burt’s Bees® lipsticks are just EVERYTHING. They come in fourteen different shades, have a satin finish and are so moisturizing on the lips. I can’t get enough! I wore Fuchsia Flood while I was out for those four hours of errand running the other day, and it was still going pretty strong at the end of it all. It had worn off a little bit over that time, but it was just slightly faded and didn’t look dry or patchy at all. I loooove these lipsticks SO much!
Alright, onto the 5 minute makeup, shall we?
After you’ve done your usual skincare, apply your Burt’s Bees® BB Cream. I used the EcoTools® Blending & Bronzing Brush for this. While I prefer the flawless finish that the EcoTools® Skin Perfecting Blending Brush gives just a little more, this brush gets the job done and gets it done quick, which is what we’re after!
I then tapped on some concealer under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose to conceal my dark circles and redness, and used the Blending & Bronzing Brush to make sure those areas were nicely blended, and then used the same brush to give my face a light dusting of powder. All of the above only took me around two minutes.
I then used my Blending & Bronzing Brush again (this brush is seriously multi-functional, I love it!), to apply a little blush for a healthy looking flush. I never skip this step if I’m wearing a base with any sort of coverage, because I don’t want my skin to all be one color, as that tends to look quite unnatural. This step took me all of thirty seconds, max.
I used another two minutes to run a tinted gel through my brows (for some reason, I magically seem to have more brows lately and don’t necessarily need to fill them for a quick, everyday look. What’s up with that? I’m so into it!) and apply a good couple coats of mascara. Defined brows and long lashes can work wonders when you are running low on time!
In the last thirty seconds, I popped on a Burt’s Bees® Lipstick. Actually, I tried two- I couldn’t decide just by looking at the tubes! On the left is Sunset Cruise and on the right is Fuchsia Flood. I ended up going with Fuchsia Flood!
How easy was that? All of five minutes and I have a full face of natural looking makeup that is also full of natural ingredients! For instance, the lipsticks contain beeswax, moringa oil and raspberry seed oil to moisturize, and all Burt’s Bees® products contain no parabens, pthalates, petrolatum or SLS.
EcoTools® is also doing their part for the environment! Their eco-conscious brushes are nor only hand crafted and cruelty-free, but the handles are also made of recycled aluminum and bamboo, and their repurposed packaging is all made of 100% tree-free paper.
In addition to all of that goodness, if you tag #MyTrueBeauty on social media, EcoTools® will donate $1 (up to $100k) to help provide educational support to women all around the world- so get tagging!
You can find Burt’s Bees® at Walmart (or Walmart.com) in the Natural Beauty section, and EcoTools® in the Cosmetics Accessories section!
What’s your favorite Burt’s Bees® and/or EcoTools® product?

I wish I’d gone for Eco Tools when I purchased my first brush at Walmart! I went for the Walmart brand and it wasn’t the best choice (but you live and you learn!) I just purchased the Lily Lake one from the Burt’s Bees lipsticks and I LOVE it. I think I’m going to have to go pick up some more because they wear surprisingly well.

Some days all I have is five minutes (unless I want to hear my boyfriend nag that I take forever to go anywhere, hahaha), so I have to make it snappy ;)

Every time I go to shoppers, they seem to be sold out of the burt’s bees lip colours that I want. Really want to give them a go, as I’ve only heard amazing reviews!
