the cheating manicure

I am keeping things simple today because as you likely know, I just moved back to Canada (and for the record, I'm the happiest I've been in a long time because of it!) so I am crazy busy sorting my life out and trying to catch up with friends and family. So today, I'm going to share one of the easiest manicures ever, one that takes less than ten minutes and is no skills required.. because let's face it, there aren't enough hours in a day and we don't all have the steadiest hands. This, my friends, I call "The Cheating Manicure".

Step 1. Paint all of your nails whatever color you want but leave your ring finger on each hand bare.
Step 2. Paint your ring fingers a different color, or if you want to get really crazy, use a glitter polish. My favorite is "Set In Stones" by Essie.

Done. What? Yeah, that's it. Two steps. No dotting tools, no paintbrushes, no anything required.
And you get a totally cool manicure. Kind of feels like cheating, right? And honestly, don't worry if you get the polish all the way around your actual nail. I ALWAYS do, and once it's all dry its super easy to pick off. Now let me share some of fave times I've done this to show how cool it can look even though it's super easy.

Essie Set In Stones on the glitter nail and dollar store nailpolish on others.
I added another coat of glitter after this for super glitter coverage.
{note the polish all around my nails? haha. i'm messy. but I did these nails last
night and all the messy polish bits are gone now!}
Miss Minty by GOSH on the accent nail and Salad Dressed by MAC on others.
A gold ORLY polish on accent nail and dollar store red polish.
Seriously try this if you haven't already. It suits everyone and makes you look like a fancy nail-doer, yay you!

Love doing my nails this way! and I am loving the luxeffects by Essie. I recently bought one and LOVED it paired with Poria by Zoya. So beautiful.

Love this idea - I am really bad at painting my own nails, but am going to try this out.

I love leaving just one finger different - it looks awesome! I wish I took more time to paint my nails - I'm sure I could come up with some fun color combos!

Accent nails are such an easy way to have super cute nails without all the crazy business of designs. Im just not creative enough for all that jazz!!

I didn't know you were canadian! congrats on the move back. What part? I just left for 3 months and I already miss it. Canada is da bomb.
