Can I preface this (is that the right word?) by letting you all know I'm in a contest to be Chicnova's "it" girl and

Now onto the good stuff. I have never been one to spend a lot on clothes. Okay, maybe I should rephrase that. I spend a lot on clothes, but not a lot on a single item. I have always been quantity over quality. I figure, you spill something on your shirt while eating...it's wrecked. You get your pants caught on something and they rip...they're wrecked. Why pay for quality if I'm just going to end up destroying my clothes?
I am slowly learning that if I take good care of good quality clothes, they will last me forever and always fit just like the very first time I tried whatever that piece of clothing is on. Nicely made clothes fit better, last longer and just LOOK nicer. While I know all this, I still struggle with the idea of buying a single shirt for $50 when I could buy four things for $50 from somewhere else. The single item I can think of that I would like to invest money in, however, is a good handbag. This is something you carry with you constantly and is part of your outfit every. single. day. Why not invest in something gorgeous that will last a lifetime? Here are my picks.
Santa, please?

I love Marc Jacobs anything! I am the same way, it is super difficult to spend the money. But most of the time it will last for years and years!

I 100% agree! I use to change purses every few months because they were cheap and would wear out fast. I finally bought a Tory Burch purse (and got in a little trouble with the hubs) but now, two years later, I'm still carrying it! You get what you pay for!
I'm finally starting to spend more on clothes, but the way I do it is getting on mailing lists for more expensive stores and the shopping their sales :D
Very cute bags, girlie! Hope you win the facebook contest!
We voted for you!
That brown Marc by Marc Jacobs is to die for!!!
Love all of those! Too too cute!
I just finally splurged on a Michael Kors Crossbody Bag, and I couldn't be more thrilled. It has interior pockets for my iPhone and chapstick/lip butter, zipper and magnetic snap... you can just feel the incredible quality! Can't wait to buy a larger version!

i need a new handbag. i'll take one of each, i guess.
love those!!
Oh, I like those bags a lot! :)
voted for you girl!! :)
I've always been a quantity over quality person too. But I'm sick and tired of spending money on say a pair of jeans and then have them rip because the seams are sewn really badly or something. I bought the No Brainer Wardrobe ebook and want to start making my own capsule wardrobe like she talks about in the book. Which means fewer items but high quality ones that you can mix and match interchangably. The first item I bought was this Fossil purse but in black a few weeks ago. Love it! Next item up will be a pair of good boots :D
Gorgeous! I can't pick a fave!!
It depends on what we are talking about, but I get bored with the same-ol same-ol. So usually once a purse wears out I see it as a good excuse to go buy another!!!
*voted :)
I have the same quality/quantity struggle. Especially because my budget doesn't allow for many splurges. For me, I have to go qith quantity. I just try to pick pieces that I can wear with everything.
I agree about a bag though. Those things take a beating! Kors and Jacobs are my absolute faves!
I have the same issue of knowing if I just buy one thing for more money it will last longer. I can't wait until my budget allows me to not think so much about that! And you can never go wrong with Marc Jacobs- it will be a timeless staple to your closet!!
